The Coliseum

I attended Summerdaze Hiphop & Soul music festival here, and my experience was good. The venue itself is outdoors, but it’s covered so I’m assuming events can happen rain or shine.
I thought the sound system was crystal clear and perfect for the DJ sets we were listening to. Unfortunately we didn’t stay long enough to hear live performances, so I can’t comment any further.
The food and drink offerings were from the Hard Rock Hotel, and they were surprisingly good value for an event. Alcohol went from $ 10 – 15, and the finger food provided cost around $ 10. I tried the chicken wings, which had a cripsy, spiced batter, and I thought 6 wings for $ 10 was decent pricing considering the venue and the fact that we’re in Sentosa.
Though it’s out of the way for me, I wouldn’t mind coming back for another concert or event. Just bring a fan with you if you’re going during the day, because it can definitely feel steamy with the constant humidity!

The Coliseum is a great outdoor venue for live gigs but so poorly managed. I am unsure if this is a venue issue or a production company issue, but I suspect it is the former.
Tonight, we went to The Coliseum to watch Alt-​J. On the ticket, it said the gig starts at 8pm. We got there at 8pm sharp and here was a 2 km long snaking queue to get inside. Everyone in the queue looked so pissed and hot and bothered. The doors hadn’t even opened at that time. So, at 8:15pm the queue starts moving slowly and at 8:30pm, we could hear crowds screaming and the band opening the set. This really pissed everyone off. We paid more than $ 100 for free standing tickets, showed up on time, and still missed the first 2 songs. When we did get in, there was only ONE bar, with 2 beer taps — for a crowd of at least 1000 pax. The queue was messy and worked all the way back into the crowds. No one was managing the queue so people were just cutting in and letting friends in whenever they wanted.
We spent 40 mins in the queue and managed to get out beers and enjoyed the last 30 mins of the gig.
SO POORLY MANAGED. I would think very hard about going to The Coliseum for a gig again. The evening was saved by Alt-​J and their amazing performance.
