We came here for lunch around noon. To my surprise, the queue was pretty short. We ordered a plate of white beehoon, seafood and meat rolls, kang kong and fried chicken wings for $ 40. The beehoon was the highlight. It was moist with a generous serving of seafood. The rolls and chicken wings were crisp and perfectly deep fried. The kang kong was tasty but really, if you need 1 reason to visit, it’s for the beehoon. This place gets crowded so visit early.

Located just opposite sembawang shopping centre, bai mee fen is a popular place for both lunch & dinner. Since i work nearby, we have always been going there for lunch. This round, since its only 2 of us, we ordered a medium bee hoon($ 9) & a small fried ngoh hiang– prawn roll($ 10) to share. The portion is generous & we left with a filled stomach. I would say based on my experience with them, their standard is consistent & waiting time is short for food to be served. The beehoon has a thick gravy fried with eggs, seafood & vegs. The chilli is awesome! And every table has a bottle, so there is no need to ask for it. The place has recently been renovated but due to sg weather, the heat doesnt get any better. I wonder why the renovation. Suggest to wear light and have some tissue on hand. They charge the drinks seperately & i recommend to try the ju zi mei.($ 2.20) This place is good for family meals & come early to avoid the snaky queues. Usually formed at 12 noon and 6pm. Closed on every wed.

I was in the area and just had to try the white bee hoon. I first heard of it from my colleague but just was not interested in making the trek all the way to Sembawang via public transport. We were there a little after 5pm on a Saturday and it was not that crowded. Maybe the rain before that kept people away. We saw a short line and joined it. Good thing we did as you would be assigned a table by the staff, so you could not just sit at any available tables. The menu was also there, so you could just place your order and informed them the number of people in your party if dining in. You would be given a table number(might be asked to share the table if you only had 2 – 3 in your group and it was a big table) and to go sit there for your food to arrive. We ordered the white bee hoon(medium), home made fried tofu(small) and sambal sweet potato leaves(small). It was a lot of food for just two, and we could not finish them. The white bee hoon was like hor fun except it was bee hoon. It was swimming in a pool of gravy but after you mixed them up, the gravy disappeared. It had soaked up the liquid. It was good but not something I would want to travel all the way for. I definitely did not dream or crave for it after that. I did not expect the home made tofu to be coated in flour and deep fried. Too much flour to keep it crispy. I probably would prefer braised tofu or something. The sweet potato leaves were ok, nothing to write home about. There were lots of flies when we were there and that made the dining experience a bit annoying in trying to swat the flies away. I saw street parking but it might be a wait if it was a crowded day as there were other restaurants in the area too. Prices are net so there is no service charge or GST.

Had the bee hoon, fried fish head and fried sambal sweet potato leaf. Simple but delicious! Did I mention their chilli sauce? Yum! Will definitely be back for more.

My first time visiting Sembawang White Bee Hoon was a Sunday night at 8.30pm. I’ve heard of snaking long queues at 5pm but when I was there, the line was not as long, but still required a half an hour wait. Anyway, I tried the signature white beehoon, Indonesian style fried chicken, deep fried homemade tofu, ngoh hiang and a fried vegetable(they were out of the more popular sambal kangkong). First off, the beehoon. For one, I’ve never been a big fan of beehoon, especially when done this style, but I must say, that was one extremely unassuming plate if beehoon undeserving of judgment before tasting. It was surprisingly delicious. Don’t scrimp on the chili. It’s the chili that makes you keep coming back for another serving of beehoon. For a medium plate modestly priced at $ 8, there is a generous amount of seafood, mainly prawn and squid. A medium feeds 2(or even 3) easily. You can also take away the beehoon. I did and ate it for breakfast the next morning. It was still delicious but texture-wise was soggy. Some may prefer this since the beehoon would soak up all the flavorful sauce. I’m undecided. Lol. Another star was the fried tofu. They make their own tofu and it was skillfully deep fried. The pieces were delightfully crisp and not oily. The other dishes were so-so. For me, for the standard and price, the maximum time I’m willing to stand in line is 30 min. 2 hours? Absolutely not.

Tasty plate of bee hoon(rice noodles) with fresh ingredients and lots of gravy. This place is famous for a few things. The«white» bee hoon(rice noodles), the hae zhor(fried shrimp rolls) and the fried chicken wings. The bee hoon comes with generous amounts of gravy and egg. It is not quite like prawn noodles but does have a good amount of seafood flavour. The hae zhor and wings are nicely deep fried. Prices are also reasonable. The coffeeshop has no AC, but brightly lit and filled with seating spilling onto the street. Hidden in a bunch of shophouses opposite Sembawang Shopping Centre, the line is extremely long and parking is tight. The attendant makes regular rounds to issue summons/tickets. The nearest MRT station is also a couple of bus stops away. To set your expectations, it’s not worth making it all the way to the north of the island. However if you’re in the area, it’s not bad to try.

The bee hoon is ok but it’s pretty much the same as kopitan bee hoon… what’s the hype? I went before 6pm so there was no line and good that I only live 2minutes away from there… if I had to spend an hour to get there then another hour waiting on line I guess I’m already bitching here and give a one star only

Hidden and quite a walk from the MRT, so take the bus. The restaurant is @ a corner of an alley just behind the main road. Great bee hoon with seafood and white, eggy, creamy sauce. You should also try the meat and shrimp roll as well as the fried bean curd too. I found the bean curd particularly amazing due to the fact that it can be so crispy outside but soft and melty inside.

This is our first time trying the white bee hoon and it’s really quite good. We came approx 12pm on a Saturday and we got a table almost immediately. The order is 2x white bee hoon(one with a extra sunny side up) and 1x chicken wings(3 chicken wings). It’s probably a good idea to order in small 1-person portions because the magic is in the eggy gravy and you get more this way. Also good idea to eat fast before the bee hoon soak up all the gravy!

It is a good plate of bee hoon, but not good enough to warrant standing in line for. The broth is full of gooey egg and seafood sweetness. To be honest, I was expecting it to be more sweetness from the seafood. It is also for fans of runny eggs. The taste of the eggs comes up quite strongly and if you don’t like egg, you probably wouldn’t fancy this too much. Plus, I was expecting more wok-hei taste in my bee hoon but that was definitely missing. I didn’t try anything else but at a random late weekday lunch hour of 3pm, there is still a decent crowd plus a decent wait for the bee hoon. I can only wonder how the line will be like during dinner or weekends. Call in to order for takeaway or charm some people to buy for you. Not quite worth standing for hours for it. Underwhelmed!

This restaurant is located along sembawang road, directly opposite sembawang shopping center. It is rumoured that the new Thomson line will be built right beside them. This eatery stall has a very simple interior design and they are easily spotted as the logo is big and usually there is a long queue at the side of the road. As the name suggests, this stall is famous for its fried white bee hoon, but frankly speaking I believe it is overrated. The long queue does not really suggest the food is great. The bee hoon tastes normal and does not really have a unique selling point. You might want to try their side dishes but the price does not justify. This place is good for a quick dinner fix but during peak hours you might want to find some other places as it is not worth the wait.

I only get to eat the famous White Bee Hoon after returning here the third time. The first two time when I came during dinner time, the queue seem like I have to wait more than an hour before I get to have my dinner. The third time, we try coming here for lunch and the queue was greatly reduce. We only need to wait around 20min. The must try item here is definitely the white bee hoon. From look, the bee hoon looks plain but when you taste it, you can feel the stock and egg taste all absorb by the bee hoon. I am a fan of bee hoon, and this dish is definitely one of the must eat dish for me. Another dish that I would like to introduce is its Mee Goreng. A balance of spicy, sour and sweet. Approved by mee goreng lover. We also tried one of the dessert, Ice Jelly. Very refreshing with a bit of lime taste. Good to have in a hot day. The place isn’t hard to find. It is located opposite Sembawang Shopping Centre and the big sign board that put«Bai Mee Fen» in chinese character is easily to spot. Open on all days except Wed, 11am to 11pm.

This is a very popular restaurant, and for very good reason: excellent food! To be honest, I am usually a fan of guo tiao so I wasn’t very thrilled to be eating bee hoon, but my friend brought us here and insisted that this place was a must try. So here I am. And I have to say that I had made the right choice in following my friend! The bee hoon here is among the best that I have tasted. The bee hoon is silky soft and extremely flavorful after soaking up the rich stock. The ingredients consisted of egg, prawns and squid(the usual), but they were very fresh and definitely added to the perfection of the dish. We also ordered a couple of other dishes such as egg tofu and vegetables, and they were tasty as well. Overall, it was worth making the journey here as this is one of the best plates of bee hoon that I have eaten.

The place is a traditional non-A/C Chinese shophouse restaurant located just opposite Sembawang shopping centre. This ‘zi char’ restaurant is famous for it’s one of a kind ‘bai mi fen’(white bee hoon). It’s appearance may look really plain and bland on the outside. But I guarantee you this seemingly bland plate of beehoon is packed with flavors. Definitely worth all that travelling! For those that do not like to wait, here’s a good news: They do phone orders for takeaways!- I always opt for this service! I’d usually call up to order my packet of bai mi fen 15 – 30 mins before reaching the restaurant. By the time I reach, it’ll be all ready for me to grab and go.
