Long lunch time line for Teochew dry noodles that many have raved to me about but this review is solely for their yummy laksa. The laksa broth is just amazing. It’s savory with just the right amount of heat and spice plus the creaminess of the coconut milk really brings the whole broth together. You know it’s good just by smelling it. Each whiff is a reminder to find a table quick and start consuming. Nice helping of ingredients overall and a lot of broth which made me happy to slurp almost of it down. Pair it with some lime juice, you’ve got the perfect sweet and acidic counterpoint. Came at 3.30pm. Barely a line so if you can hold your hunger or eat 2 lunches, that’s a good time to come.

An better than average bowl of noodles. Definitely better than the foodcourt version, but it doesn’t have the X factor. I will happily eat it but not if there is a more than 20 min line. What is endearing is that most in line are teochews and the stall is also ran by teochews, thus it’s great if you can speak the dialect.

Best teochew/bak chor Mee in Singapore hands down and the mile-long line backs this up!

This stall is located in a food centre and it looks like the average fishball noodles stall. I like my noodles to be full of flavour and the soup to have a rich stock taste too instead of just pepper and ajinomoto. When i ordered a bowl of soupy fishball noodles, the auntie that served me seemed pretty frustrated and for some reason it felt like she was talking quite crudely to most of the customers. I was thinking maybe the noodles are really that great that’s why people still buy from her. When i dug into my bowl of soup i was kind of disappointed as the soup tasted just alright nothing really ‘wow’ about it. The noodles were average too, not that chewy as i would like it but not too soggy too. I think i probably wouldn’t travel all the way there to queue up and eat that standard of noodles again.
