Woods in the Books is the coolest children’s bookshop in town! They have the MOST AMAZING pop-​up books — my favourite is their Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) pop-​up. It is awesome beyond words. That pop-​up cost $ 50, which sounds pretty pricey, but it you browse through a copy, you’ll definitely agree that it’s worth every cent of that $ 50! Woods in the Books also has little stationery like postcards and tote bags and cute kits and stuff. It’s lovely — check it out.

A great hideaway on Club Street, Woods in the Books has a medley of picture books, from those for kids to graphic novels for the adults.
I visited because I was looking for a gift for a four year-​old, not really my area of expertise. The staff was immensely helpful and whipped out a bunch of options based on my requirements (i.e., must involve dinosaurs). All in all, I had a great experience here, and will certainly return for a browse when I’m in the area again.
I generally love these small bookstores that give you the sensation that their selections have been personally and painstakingly curated, even if the collection is not necessarily extensive. The music selection and décor are always thoughtfully put together, hence these places never ever feel like any old store.

Forget about iPads and e-​books and make a trip here for the real stuff. Physical picture books can never be replaced by their digital counterparts — nothing can be compared to the satisfaction of reading a book with full page illustrations.
Woods in the Books is a lovely bookstore dedicated to picture books and graphic novels from a mixture of Asian and Western authors. Look out for their selection of local picture books in a little corner of the store — Singapore has been producing a few notable children’s books recently. Local graphic novels such as Gone Case also has a space on their shelves, so adults have something to flip through while the children play.
A must visit if you’re in the Ann Siang area.

An «independent picture bookshop», Woods in the Books was something we badly needed.
If you want picture books of any kind (not just for children! Although the kids’ range is awesome), you’d come here. There are lovely pop-​up books as well.
I do wish their graphic novel selection was larger and not just confined to the better known stuff, though. But on a hot day in Ann Siang Hill, Woods in the Books is an especially beautiful experience.
