I just fail to get excited about Wine Connection — this outlet perhaps even a bit more than others. I will admit that Wine Connection has done a lot for wine culture in Singapore(and even more so in Thailand where the quality in general is horrendous) and for that I think they should be given a big thanks. Unfortunately the quality of the food is usually very disappointing and paired with the prices. I made the mistake to try a pizza here and it was barely edible(not even sure how one can fail with the pizzas but looking around at other tables after that it seemed to be the way the intended it). They do have a pretty decent selection of wines by the glass and the bottle but in general the selection is boring and over-priced. What was a bit disappointing at this specific location is also that the staff do not seem to know much about wine. My attempts to get some recommendations and additional information were not successful. The space is however pretty nice with a lot of seats outside.

After being in Singapore longer I would say Concetto is better pasta for the price. The pizza looks hilariously bad. Still haven’t tried. The service is really subpar this location versus the other ones.

Like most of the restaurants here on Cuppage Terrace, this place is average — at best. Of course, its wine list is extensive, but the rest — service, atmosphere, food — is only average. I found the service to be quite indifferent actually. I had the Asparagus Soup, a Bread Basket and a Greek Salad — which were all served in one go. Annoying. The soup was tasty, but thin rather then creamy. The bread was dry(I thought it was toasted at first, but found a soft fresh slice under the pile of hard dry ones). The Greek Salad was basically a pile of green leaves dripping with oil, with a meagre helping of Fetta and a few olives. The dressing was bland — just oil, tomatoe and onion were rare and cucumber was even rarer. I came because this place seems to be one here that’s always popular — but I wouldn’t come again.

We came here at 11:40pm and thought we had a few more hours to have some wine since they stated they were open until 1:30am. Not only were we told we had 20 min to order and drink but the entire service felt extremely rushed. I ordered the house red wine and 2x repeated that’s what I wanted but upon getting the bill I was charged for the more expensive wine. I won’t come here again and am super unimpressed with the service.

This is my go-to spot in Singapore — well, it would be, if only I lived there! I visited this branch a couple of times during my two-week stay. The first time was with old friends(come to think of it, all times were with old friends, but I digress): We shared two pizzas(thin crust — yum!) and a bottle of wine. Both were great. The dessert wasn’t that good, though. They have a big selection of wines(and for an unbeatable price: I dare you to find a glass of wine for $ 6 – 7 anywhere else on the island!) — you’ll be spoiled for choice — though my personal favourite from the little I sampled was definitely the Birds & Bees. Give that a try if you like sweet wines! Indoor and outdoor seating, but I definitely prefer sitting outside. This is a great place to chill and catch up with friends.

Phoned to book table for informal family meal at Wine Connections, Cuppage Road, first time there. Ordered food starter came had to ask for platter to be removed when finished. Waited for main course had to ask where it was. Brought 2 meals(there were 3of us) asked where 3rd meal was after waiting for at least 4 – 5 minutes for it to arrive. waiter went to ask oh dear no chicken left for Caesar salad. 2 people already had food, now getting cold, far too late to be telling us one dish was not available. To late for another meal to come before others had finished and no apology. Very poor service indeed. To make matters worse the customer satisfaction form came with bill pre-marked excellent !! We corrected and made sure head waiter received proper feedback. Wine was good, food was Ok apart from not having any chicken to make a Caesar salad at 7.00pm poor show wine connections, well below experience we have had at Robinson Walk. Will we be back, or will we order any more wine online, don’t know? A disappointing service does make you think twice. Andrew L

Note: the rating is only for their selection of wine. I have never eaten here, and probably never(?) will. I’ve looked at their food menu, and everything looks awfully overpriced! They do have a great selection of wine, from cheap $ 15 wine for a chill night to the more expensive $ 100++ wine for a romantic evening. I suggest you ask for seats outside. Seating inside is pretty dull. Last time I had to seat inside, and it was NOT fun at all! Worse of all, people actually spoke to each with their INSIDE voices inside. Waaah! Alcohol + INSIDE voices = Red Zone I suggest you call ahead to make reservations for tables outside. They don’t take reservations on Friday and Saturday, and I believe Thursday and Sunday as well. Cheers to all the drinkers!

Wine Connection is a pretty good place to go for a night out. Drinks are affordable and cheaper than most restaurants. The food is not too bad. Nothing totally special or amazing but decent enough. The have a cool eat all you can raclette deal for about $ 30 which is also fun and worth trying. Give their desserts a miss though. Nothing too special. The restaurant itself has a nice chill atmosphere. A nice place to spend an evening at.

One of my favourite spots for easy drinks with friends. Casual and unpretentious, the biggest draw is the great variety of wines at affordable prices. They offer take-away as well, which is even cheaper than in-house consumption. Do not come here for the food, though. They did, however, recently change the menu, which is a big heave of relief as the variety and quality was far more dismal in the past. Still, think of the food as an accompaniment to the wine rather than the other way around. In comparison to the other Wine Connections sprinkled across Singapore, this one offers an expansive outdoor space, and does not have the cacophonic sounds of their Tapas Bar and Bistro in Robertson Walk.

Cuppage is slowly becoming one of my favorite places in the Orchard area to escape from the regular crowd and try something a little quieter. This isn’t to say that it is not crowded by any means, but it’s definitely not as packed as say, its neighbor Emerald Hill. Wine Connection Bar & Bistro at Cuppage is the perfect example of this harmony. The interiors are well lit yet with softer tones so you don’t feel like you’re in a restaurant but you’re not in a bar either. The wine list is extensive with an array of price ranges so there’s something for everyone. We ordered two bottles of Shiraz along with a few glasses of Sauvignon Blanc for a party of 7 and came in quite reasonably at $ 130 for the evening. The food wasn’t bad, but certainly not a place to come just for dinner. An excellent place to wind down after a long day of work with a few friends.
