I have been here a couple of times to see what’s the fuss about this ‘dim sum’ place and is it worth paying the extra $$ for it and was I impressed? Well, honestly speaking, I tasted better ones at other cheaper places but overall I find the quality of food to be above average, but I feel I am paying more for the brand than the food. This branch is often crowded especially during meal times and there are often long queues so I avoid going at meal times and on weekends! I would only queue for something spectacular and unfortunately this doesn’t fall into the list. However, I am giving it 4 star because the food quality and my service experience at this outlet is positive. The staff were friendly and there is no pressure from the staff to eat and go, so for future dim sum outings, I will return here. Overall, this is one of the ‘dim sum’ places you can consider going to for fine dining. Nothing beats Hong Kong of course but it’s as close as you get!

Very tasty and delicious food here unfortunately no tea … The type of milk tea we use to have for dimsum… But, still a nice place to go especially when there no big Q in front…

Go during the afternoon when there isn’t a huge queue. I tried all of their specialities, but my favorite was a «seasonal dish,» the chili crab stuffed roll was amazing. The light dough exterior was crispy and the inside gushed with a slightly sweet, but savory chili crab filling. Yum.

I was shopping with one of my best friends in JEM, during a visit back to Singapore to visit family. And really, one can only do so much shopping before you get tired of walking. And want to sit. So she drags me to this place down on the ground floor, telling me that this place has good dim sum. That it’s a branch off of a FAMOUS place in Hong Kong. And so I say why not? I let her pick what we get, though she does let me have some input. And wow, everything was pretty amazing. I know I don’t exactly have access to the crème de la crème of dim sum in good ol’ Phoenix, Arizona, but wow. We got the baked pork buns, the har cheong, siew mai, carrot cake and ended with their signature osmanthus… jelly thing. I’ve never had pork buns like this– with the bread soft and a crispy icing crust on top. It was thin and the pork filling inside sweet and PIPING hot. The har cheong was so silky and tender, oh my goodness. I never even knew what har cheong could be like until I ate this. The siew mai was great, juicy and again, hot. The carrot cake too was great, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and again never too doughy. Nothing here had too much dough. The jelly was… well. The jelly was GOOD. It really does look a bit strange. Texturally I’m not a fan of the wolfberries, but if I picked around it or swallowed them they weren’t too bad at all. Best dim sum I’ve ever had. Now I just need to go to Hong Kong and experience the real thing.

There is something to be said about dim sum carts. Those egalitarian trays coasting across the dining room, people grabbing their choice offerings as they pass. While I love me some traditional dim sum cart service, I don’t miss those carts at Tim Ho Wan. Holy moly! Made to order dim sum. Still complete with curt service. I am so in! The winner of our Saturday morning hangover dim sum brunch was clearly the baked pork dumplings. The yeasty dough. The sweet barbeque sauce. Mmmm. Totally hangover worthy! I could eat the steamed spinach dumplings all day. The spinach texture was fresh and crisp, like you could tell it was a leafy spinach at some point. I could really go on and on here, but I’m starting to salivate already. Just go. It’s the cheapest meal for this quality you’ll find anywhere in Sinagpore!
