Slow and inefficient, many of the customers came behind us got served first. 40 mins and waiting and people came in 20 mins earlier got their food already! Where is my prata

This is a VERY good prata. For $ 1.10 for a kosong(that is plain for you SG newbies!) it is a bit more expensive than some, however… you will not be disappointed. The prata is super crispy, a little sweet — not too greasy and is fluffy inside. The egg prata $ 1.90 also maintained its crispness which impressed me as usually this is not the case. The gravy was not hot enough for my liking — in temperature or side level and was a little sweet, however the consistency was good. The location is a bit odd… 14 stops from AMK?!? so the MRT line which will be built in many years time will be a welcome addition. There are large tables inside and out with effective air conditioning for those in need. They have a Murtabak which is HUGE and very well worth the money. You will leave satisfied. The kopi was too sweet, and just standard in my opinion, but good to wash down the prata with. Go for a teh halia instead(ginger tea). Great place that gets busy at the usual peak periods, so go early or late to avoid the masses which keep flowing through the door. Thumbs up from me for this crispy style prata place.

Love the crispy prata and fish curry here. The fact that its airconditioned makes it brilliant on hazy nights. In addition their teh haliah is good and their cheese prata is very well done with the cheese nicely spread out. They also have poached egg prata almost like eggs ben. Which I haven’t tried as yet. .

Summary: — best prata I’ve had; the stuff of dreams — open late — cheap cheap cheap — This is my new favorite restaurant in Singapore. Because I’m an American, roti prata is one if those once in every 5 years type of thing. I literally dreamed about indulging the crispy layers drenched in curry goodness as I was flying into Changyi Airport. Prata Place did not disappoint; it exceeded beyond expectations. And they were high. The basic prata was only one Singapore dollar. Naturally, I ordered 6. The little dining area was filled with the aroma of oily prata and curry goodness. The food came out quickly. I ate crispy flakey prata after prata until I was in a food coma. I came back the next day for breakfast and ordered 6 more. Then the night before my 5am flight, I came here and ate 2 more. I have honored the moment in my profile picture.

I was at a neighbourhood event and saw the infamous springleaf prata now comes to you! And cooks right at the event itself. They can cook up hundreds of crispy prata non stop. And after each batch of prata is cooked, they pull out a tray of them and a lady serves them to you. Everyone gets two plain prata and its so crispy! You have a choice of vegetable, chicken or fish curry sauces. The vegetable sauce is the least spicy and its my favourite. Having crispy prata cooked right on the spot is the best part about this catering service! The quality of the prata is so much better than their other outlet at NYP

I’ve been wanting to write a review on The Prata Place’s catering service after they did an event at my home earlier this year. As I’ve just placed my catering order for the same event next year, I thought I’d drop a note. Prata Place is a great value catering option if you have friends visiting from out of town. In my case, I had students and professors from my alma mater visiting and to host a crowd of 40 – 50 people, what better way to showcase my home than with a live roti prata man! For a very reasonable price per head, I had a prata chef flip cook everything from roti kosong to tissue prata on the spot and a mini buffet with excellent chicken masala, briyani rice(it was so good we kept the leftovers and ate it over a couple of weeks) as well as stuff like teh tarik and freshly squeezed lime juice. I was seriously bowled over by the quality of the food, given that I usually play it safe and stick with caterers like Preparazzi and the Friends group. Everyone, both Singaporeans and the visitors, loved the crispy prata and curry. In terms of service, the chef came and assembled his equipment and the buffet by our designated time(7pm). The tear down was fine except that there was a trail of oil from the grill being moved and I didn’t notice it until later on. It is an oversight on both our parts so I would just be careful about that when thinking of where to locate the grill next time. In all, great experience and I would recommend Vinod and his team if you’re thinking of having an authentic Singaporean spread.

We ordered a lot of stuff and I tried a couple of items and I still find their Pratas the bomb! Crispy and flavourful!!! The Mee Goreng is only ok… Their Butter Chicken is tender but only so-so taste…

Had driven past this place many times, but tonight finally got around to trying the Prata house. We kept our order simple, plain Prata, an onion Prata, chicken masala and a Plain Thosai. Service was fast, if a bit brusque. The food was great, the Thosai, thin, crispy and piping hot with four different dips, all with good flavor. The plain Roti’s were the star of the show though, hot, crispy on the outside with just the right amount of velvet buttery smoothness inside. The chicken masala was also very very good, with just the right amount of delicious spicy goodness. Bill was very cheap, and next time could be even cheaper If we skipped the Thosai and Onion Roti. Would definitely return.

This gem of a prata place has been at the top of my list for at least three years now, and for good reason. The pratas are consistently crispy, with the crust flaky as you tear through it with your hands. The interior is fluffy and nicely prepared. There are different types of curry, with one version(they serve it by default) having a very unique taste that is spicy and slightly sweet. The thosai here is also fantastic, crispy and wafer-thin. The sauces that accompany it are flavourful and you can always ask for a top-up to go with the remaining thosai or even the pratas(which I have tried, and whose awesomeness I can vouch for). The boss is always hearty and warm, even stopping to joke with the customers. There is a real warmth to this spot that keeps me coming back for more.

Mmmm… prata is my favorite indian food and I came to this place upon the recommendations of my friend. And as the name suggests, this place specializes in prata, and other«related» dishes such as murtabak. I ordered a plain prata and a mushroom with egg prata. The plain prata was really delicious, because it came piping hot. But most importantly, the outside was really crispy and the inside was fluffy. Yum yum. I didn’t detect too much oil as well, which is always a good thing. The mushroom with egg prata was also good as well; the taste of the button mushroom went well with the curry and I really liked it. We had a look at the menu and it appears that this place also serves up other«weird» varieties of prata such as red bean prata and onion chili prata. It’s just too bad that I don’t stay near to this place; otherwise I would be sure to patronize this prata place every week.

Fan of thin crispy prata? Then this place around the Springleaf estate of Thomson will give you just what you like. A corner restaurant of a sleepy row of shophouses, it is relatively accessible by bus or car. Some might say this is in the top 10 of prata places in Singapore. The curry here is one of the highlights. I find the prata here on the dry side and thin — which makes it incredibly crispy. I actually prefer the Sin Ming prata which is more chewy. Prices are reasonable and the seating is comfortable. I would not mind going back!
