Standard for all coffee shops is to have coffee and wifi. I didn’t come here for the $ 7 drinks. I came here for the wifi. They were out of the drink I requested, furthermore, there’s NOWIFI.

Not a bad place this but not Super either. I love the 5 different sections, looking at photos you would think that you are in completely different locations! There are two sofas, a conservatory area, magazines for reading… It is great to have these different areas for more privacy and perfect for small groups and quieter Bussiness discussions. Coffee was pretty decent. Not so smooth but flavour was nice. I like a creamy froth and this wasn’t quite up to scratch. Nice touch with seeing ice gems though. The cake was chocolate my and quite rich. Pricey and I’m not sure why they added the syrup on the plate… It was a good job it wasn’t on the top of it as it would have ruined the flavour. We also wanted to order a glass of milk and I was immediately told no. So when I very politely protested informing them that many coffees contain milk, they charged us for a coffee. Not very good form, so they should loose points for this really. Good place for catching up with friends, not such great service or food and drinks.

Great place in terms of value for money compares to most places in Tiong Bahru. The portion size is reasonable for a 13 $ stew. The place is rarely busy for dinner which is a plus.

Beef rendang($ 13.90) — 5 stars Simple, homey and they don’t use MSG apparently. Relatively small portion. Great place to study or chill as well. Wifi is available.

I like Orange Thimble because it’s a nice casual chill café. Not too noisy. Coffee is still reasonably priced. They do a nice piccolo too. Haven’t tried their food though. Oh, and they have art on their walls for sale by local artists. I think that’s pretty cool! I actually wanted to buy one or two pieces everytime I’m there. It’s like, buy coffee and art to go, pls. Hahaha. Nice little place.(It stretches all the way to the backyard)

Ok, on tente quand même.

Nice place! Many cosy areas to hangout. Only pity is that like many cafés in Tiong Bahru, it doesn’t provide free wifi.

I’m kicking myself for not grabbing coffee from TBB right next door instead — it’s truly daylight robbery to charge $ 4.50 for a Piccolo Latte that was both under extracted and washed out with burnt milk — I gave up after two mouthfuls. This was my first try of Orange Thimble and sadly, it’ll probably be my last. Of all the cafés in Tiong Bahru, I’d say that they lose out based on both quality and on decour. It’s truly a shame; I wished this experience wasn’t so disappointing!

Went here after my Singaporean friend suggested it. The ambience was a bit quirky. Expecting it to be packed but rather empty. I guess I went in right before peak hours. The latte was good. Not great… just good. The service was also reasonable. What ticked me off about this coffee shop and quite a few of the others in Tiong Bahru area was the lack of wifi.

Orange Thimble faces stiff competition from their next door neighbour, Tiong Bahru Bakery. They are a bit different in that it’s more a small café with savouries, sweets, ice cream, and coffee. I’ve only ordered their cappuccino for takeaway, and my basic coffee tastes have rendered it good. My colleagues say the food is horrible but they’re a fussy bunch so I’m not sure you should believe them 100%.* On the plus side, they have a really cool space that’s perfect for hanging out, catching up, or getting some work done. I’ve never been able to explore the rooms further in but looking through the windows from the cashier, it looks cute. If the«too cool for school» crowd next door is bothering you, Orange Thimble is a great alternative. If you chill in the outdoor space, you might get a visit from Bob, the local celebrity kitty! *Did I say that out loud?

I’m not a fan of sandwiches, so it’s hard to give it a thorough review, but i’ll say this: — Cute ambience — Tasty prawn floss sub– very flavorful and creative

I have to admit, they’ve put in lots of effort to ensure that this would be a good-looking café with a stylish set-up. However, I’m not necessarily bowled over by the food or the drinks. The coffee is alright, and the cakes are good but not good enough for me to want to return and have them a second time. All in all, this feels a bit like a case of style over substance. Getting as trendy as it is, Tiong Bahru is certain to have quite a few of these(and it certainly does…) and I’m not one of those who can be won over by something that’s average but happens to be well-packaged.

Orange Thimble serves decent coffee, but really it’s the chill out vibe that draws people to the café. Try to come on a weekday when things aren’t as hectic, and you’ll find yourself able to spend hours here, just lounging on a couch and flipping through last month’s edition of Vogue. As previously mentioned, the coffee is decent — though if you want stellar coffee, then you’re better off at neighbouring 40 hands. The Orange Thimble does serve pretty good ice cream though — try their sesame ice cream. It’s served to you in a quaint white-blue china bowl — very reminiscent of your childhood. It’s a perfect place for weekday brunch, and is a favourite among my group of friends

Amidst the cafes and bakeries that has sprung up in the Tiong Bahru estates, Orange Thimble is one of my favorites because it has all the right things that makes it good. Firstly it is adequately big enough for humans to be inside and not feel cramped up. However I read about how it is getting very crowded now so I would avoid it on weekends if I don’t feel like dealing with everyone trying to ‘relax’ at a stressful environment. I also really liked the décor of the place. It is all vintage knick knacks and carefully sourced plates and cups. The food itself is nothing amazing to shout about, though I think they have handmade ice cream from somewhere else, and the cake I had tasted good too. It is the perfect place to just have a cuppa and read, or have a nice catch up with a friend.

I heard this place can get pretty crowded so I suppose I got lucky to head down on a slow day. The place is lit with orange-tints which makes for a very cheerful greeting when I found it. Entering the shop, you see a welcoming display of bakes, enticing you to pick them. Wasn’t up for coffee so I eventually settled for a hot chocolate and a slice of brioche(from the entire loaf I bought). The hot chocolate was well-creamed with a fluffy foam to it and pair really nicely with marshmellows. Quite possibly the best hot chocolate I have had in SG. The lads behind the counter very nicely toasted the brioche for me to a perfect warmth. The bake was just that slight bit crispy while keeping a soft, fluffy bite within. I didn’t have stomach space but was really tempted by more of the bakes. Will definitely make a next visit.

I used to frequent this stretch for brunch since it’s practically next door, just great for rolling out of bed unkempt. Granted, there are more of the arty farty types hanging around now, but I figure they’re too concerned with their own cool vibes than to notice my messy bed hair. Go to orders are always, always the English Breakfast and two cups of flat white coffees. I always find English Breakfasts in SG to be severely overpriced — why do restauranteurs insist on charging upwards of $ 10 for toast, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, baked beans and mushrooms? Alas, being too lazy to DIY has its downsides. How it works is that you order and pay, and are handed a buzzer that flashes and vibrates violently when your order is ready. The coffee is always aromatic and smooth, and served with an old school Iced Gem biscuit. On the other hand, the breakfast’s standard tends to vary from day to day. Sometimes I get two sausages, sometimes no mushrooms, sometimes this, sometimes that. They usually make up for it in some way though. This place gets very crowded and the wait staff are usually not able to handle the crowds. People mill around, waiting for their buzzer to buzz, and then collect their chow at the cashier, which makes it quite a bit of a squeeze. I used to go to OT out of sheer laziness, but don’t go there anymore.

Pretty little place along the Tiong Bahru stretch where all the hipsters now seem to be congregated. The Orange Thimble is a cute little café with a nice outdoor area. The décor is a bit old school and a bit modern at the same time. Came here for coffee; there are better places for coffee. The desserts and ice cream were also okay, but not much to shout about. Not sure about the food. May come back and check it out again. But there are so many places in this area…
