This is a good place for lunch during your hectic work hours in the CBD area. It is a small area but serves quite good sandwiches and the price is not too bad as well. I like the fact that they have this mini sandwich platter, and i can try more types of sandwiches all in small portions. I also like that i have the flexibility to choose what type of bread goes with which bread. Some of the sandwiches i have tried are the smoked salmon, roast beef and the potato salad is to die for as well. The food was good though not much of choices to choose from. Their service was not very good, i think the thing that saved my meal was their sandwiches. Overall a good meal but bad service.

The sandwiches at Moomba are so good that Google Singapore has them catered to the office from time to time. I am quite picky when it comes to sandwiches so I’ve only tried the Salmon and alfalfa sprouts sandwich. And again a personal thing, I enjoy a generous stuffing which Moomba delivers time and time again. Smoke salmon is one of those premium ingredients for a sandwich and many places give you a slice or two which you can barely taste when chomping down on the thick bread and dense forest of vegetables. I usually replace the cream based sauce with a tomato pesto which I find both healthier and more suitable for smoke salmon. If I am not, this place accepts cash only so come prepared. Nearest Atm’s are in Raffles Place MRT.

When I worked in the CBD, this is where I liked to go for a treat. It’s rather small and hence cramped(I reckon many people take-away or call for delivery rather than eat on site), but that doesn’t mean variety isn’t good. I usually have two salads on a plate – if you’re not there too late there is a selection of 4 – 5 salads. I really like their bean + chicken salad, and pumpkin chorizo. Thai chicken is nommy too, though more sweet and tangy. Once in a while there are seasonal specials, such as a turkey salad around Christmastime. Coffee is excellent, though I do feel there are better places for dessert.

The Moomba’s a nice and quiet place for those working in the CBD area to enjoy breakfast and a refreshing cuppa before starting work. Conveniently located by the Singapore river and in the CBD area, the café has a nice, clean and white environment that makes their customers feel refreshed. A great place to dine in for breakfast, lunch or grab an on-the-go sandwich. The café has a nice selection of salads and sandwiches. If your spoilt for choice on what to have, get their mini sandwiches. You’ll get to try 6 different sandwich types all in bite-sizes!
