The Burger Bar

Expecting that The Burger Bar was more similar to its sister restaurant FatBoy’s Burgers, I was hoping to get a salad. Upon arriving, I was disappointed to see it was a burger and fries only menu.
DIY ordering is done on an iPad at one of 2 or 3 stations. The iPad ordering software is a little buggy, but in the end it was probably easier to customize our options than try to communicate them all to a human. After ordering, you go directly to the window to pay. Then after a short wait, your food is picked up from the same window.
The dining area is small, lined with tables and clunky little wooden benches that are hard to maneuver. The mall glass runs the length of the dining area and it feels a little like an aquarium with the passerby’s looking in to check things out.
The food was good quality. The burgers were tasty. The french fries were also good, but in both orders — there were too many short stubby little fry bits and not enough longer ones. Parmesan on the Truffle Fries was too fine — like dust. The truffle flavor could have been stronger.
The Good: Tasty burgers, efficient ordering and food pickup system
The Bad: Limited menu (no salads) The dining area is small and unappealing. The bench/​stool seats are too big and barely fit under the tables. The french fry bits were stubby and the truffle fry flavor was underwhelming.
The Verdict: One of the better economical burgers in town.

Came here with the thoughts of free Bacon on Mondays with a few friends. Wasn’t that crowded.
Was a little confused with the iPad on the side as I went in to meet my friends in a rushed way. Then my friend pointed that we supposed to order from that. Tapped on the screen and it’s the menu. But while deciding on what to eat next, the screen came back to offline mode and you have to tap the screen to continue with your order. And your order number comes up after you confirmed what you ordered. Instead of going to pay for my bill, I sat down and noticed the crowd going to the counter and I was wondering why — figured out that was the payment area shortly. Coming to the counter, was greeted by the server with a smile. Then I told her my order number and ordered the pear cider with berries on the side. After payment, was given a beeper — let one knows when to collect the order.
My beeper went off after 5 or so minutes. Picked the food up and my friends decided to go for the table with sofas at the corner. It was filled with the leftovers and the customers who sat earlier didn’t clean after themselves. I had to ask the server who served me at the cashier to clean that area up but she was fast and efficient and we got our second seat pretty fast. My friends and I decided to order truffle fries on the side.
I ordered the monthly special pork burger and I kept thinking that bacon was included in mine. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Price wise pretty decent and they minus $ 2 off cider if you order the monthly special burger hence I decided to get the pear with berries cider. Quality wise it was al-​right. But I prefer if they would increase their condiments in it like the chains in the US. Might try the beef burger on next visit.
Beer was reasonable at that price. It has more berries taste than pear. Will try the pear cider the next time I visit here.
Truffle fries sounded good but it was al-​right. Not too much of my liking. Next time I will go for the spicy cheese fries (if I remember it correctly).
Overall, service was good and price was good. Will be back again in the near future.

This seems like a wannabe imitation of Fat Boy’s Burger Bar. I hear they are sister restaurants, in which case, this is the ‘B’-version, and I’d stick with the original Fat Boy’s.
I ordered a burger with the Ipad system. If you make a mistake and want to go ‘back’, you have to start over again.
When I got my burger, the juices from the burger made my sesame bun fall apart quickly. Problem is, after I finished my burger, I was still hungry. My patty was thinner than FatBoy’s Burgers. Funny, because on the facebook page of Burger Bar, it says someone complained that their burgers were small, so they made a special mega-​burger for that celebrity. Great, but I’m no celebrity, and I still think the burgers are small.
Maybe I just need a couple of fries to top you off and make you full after a burger. FatBoy’s includes fries, for that perfect top-​off to make sure you’re full, but Burger Bar does not. FatBoy’s also gives free water, this place does not.
I think I’ll stick to the original Fat Boy’s.
