One of the bastions in aiding the Singaporean music industry. Okay, what good is a musician without an instrument. Unless you’re a singer, chances are you might have already bought something from Swee Lee. Prices here are not exactly the cheapest, but what they have is sheer volume. Being one of the first music stores in the country, they have a very wide range of products here and there should be something that you’ll be able to find in your price range. I normally come here out of convenience but my favourite place in the showroom is the very ‘exclusive’ looking room that houses all the expensive guitars. It looks a little bit like a shrine to Rock. Look out for the annual Swee Lee Sale where prices are slashed, but be prepared to queue up before the store opens for first dibs.

Swee Lee Co’s was founded after WW2 to cater to the needs of the various military bands and local uniform groups. Following this tradition, you can find many instruments catering to the needs of military and school bands and they have many local schools as their clients. Nonetheless, Swee Lee Co. sells mostly guitars(acoustic and electronic), amps, drum sets and percussion instruments of various sorts. Apparently they are the only distributor of Roland in Singapore. Their show room in Bras Basah Complex allow you to test the instruments. They deliver free of charge to any destination in Singapore. The sales personnel are generally friendly and knowledgeable.
