We’ve walked by this corridor a few times at the Marina Square on our way to watch a flick at the Golden Village movie theater next door. I’ve always been in awe of the swarms of Singaporean teens and pre-teens hanging out here. It’s a sensory overload w/the arcade games blasting their sounds, the carnival-like atmosphere created by those video prize games where you can«stand a chance» to win a cheap tablet or life size doremon plush toy.(I love that phrase«stand a chance» when flyers tout raffles or giveaways, a unique Singaporean phrase as I understand it). Without digressing too much, this area of Marina Square can be nuts at times b/c there’s a very popular bowling alley right across from Super Cue. By judging from the crowds, I’d say bowling is 10x more popular than pool or billiards or snookers. The venue was about 10% occupied when we arrived but slowly more tables filled up. We played for an hour and was quickly reminded how BAD we are at pool. The prices are decent. $ 12 if you’re some kind of member and $ 13.90 if you’re not. The rate is prorated by the minute so unlike me who wasn’t quite sure if they charge BYTHEHOUR or if it’s prorated, we played for exactly 58 minutes. Would definitely return for a humbling anytime.
