Excellent selection of DIY hardware and tools — and as one reviewer puts it: stuff that are bordering on light construction/contractor work. Pricing-wise, I think they are generally reasonable and don’t forget to ask for discounts if you are purchasing some expensive stuff or a lot of items — they might give you a few dollars off your purchase. You could do some comparative shopping at Samroc that’s next door. Other good places I can recommend for hardcore DIY junkies are Horme(nearest is their Big Box warehouse cum retail outlet at the basement carpark), and HardwareCity(Chua Chu Kang Ave 1 and Pioneer Junction).

I’ve been to a hell of a lot of shitty hardware store in Singapore… this is NOT one of them. The selection here is incredible and they are SO helpful. Prices are quite good as well. It’s a bit hidden, but if you can find you wont regret the trip.

This place is a neighbourhood Hardware store on steroids. This is another little family business that grew and grew on the trade of satisfied contractors. As I said in my in my tip, they supply hardware to the general contractors that do work around your house for leaky pipes, electrical wiring, cabinetry, masonry and tile work. I had to pick up 2 gas piston rod replacements for a a flip up kitchen cabinet. I’d been all over the place looking for these when I should just have headed straight for Sun Hee. I finally called my general contractor and he directed me to Sun Hee. It’s actually a beefed up version of the hardware stores that you see all over the heartlands, except their inventory covers casual DIY to a moderately heaving contracting. You might even be able to buy bags of cement… which from the looks of things looks like they might actually carry, but I didn’t ask.
