This is one of my favourite Starbucks outlets in Singapore and it has recently been refurbished. I like it primarily for the ample space, comfortable armchairs and large windows by which you can sit and people watch for hours. On the negative side, this Starbucks appears to have some of the slowest service I’ve encountered on the island. This is a problem because during the day it is often jammed with office workers. The poor bastards have to wait for 10 – 15 minutes to order their caffeine hit before scurrying back to their cubbyholes. Come on guys, speed it up!

Date/Time of Visit: 18th Dec 2012, 4:20pm It’s a Starbucks. They have prided themselves in almost identical standards of service and F&B not only throughout the countries but in the region. I’ve always enjoyed the Starbucks Experience as most of us would call it. There were, a couple of kinks with this outlet at The Central though. 1) The barista asked me if I wanted to «upsize to a medium»? I mean, it’s a small kink, but seriously? Did you jump over from CBTL or something? 2) I ordered a Dark Chocolate Log Cake for my girlfriend. I’m not exactly sure what it was supposed to be like. It was way too mushy, and looked like it was condensed out of vaporized chocolate fudge. Not sure if many will like it.

Friendly server who attempted to make small talk and actually smiled. I only wish their coffee tasted better. The latte I had was way too weak. Not sure if it is my imagination or did they used to serve a much better cup of coffee.
