Not sure how the below reviewer got breakfast out of this place, though we did suggest to the barman that it was a good idea. He said«but then we’d have no time to make the dumplings!» We stayed just around the corner from here at the Gallery hotel. It s nice spot at Robertson Quay, I came away from here wishing I owned a small bar license in Sydney, so I could steal all their recipes. Salty Egg squid was my absolute fav. never tried anything like it. If I was going to offer my own version of Anthony Bourdain’s The Layover, Id say come here because even if you have no time to seek out the famous Singapore chilli crab, here you can get Singapore chilli crab steamed buns as a yum cha. Sorted.

Lovely restaurant right off the river. The open concept is great for people watching and a nice breeze. We came early in the day for a dumpling breakfast so I don’t know what this place turns into at night– but I’d imagine late night dumpling cravings and drinking are a plus! The shredded duck gyoza was amazing. We ordered a second round. So flavorful and delicate. The shumai and ha gao were also very good. Very fresh and good flavors. The chili crab bao not so much. That was slap you in the face crab flavor. Not my thing– but if you’re into that… Also stay far away from the bloody Marys. Gross. I sucked mine down solely because it was 12 damn dollars. Service was good– but we were literally the only people in the place. I’d like to go back in the evening and sip on some beer, munch on dim sum and watch the crowds.

I love my dim sum and what I had here wasn’t good at all. It’s more of a gimmicky place that is more about drinks then the food. While not all the dim sum is bad, the majority of it was quite a disappointment for me, having heard plenty of good reviews about it. Come here only if you want to have some pub grub to go along with drinks and not vice versa.

A hip dim sum café that opens till late in the evening, expect dim sum with cocktails and beers. The perfect combination for the alcohol loving crowd. Food comes in specially made square baskets. If dim sum not enough to fill you up, get the spicy beehoon goreng with assorted seafood. Try shredded duck dumplings, steam chilli crab pau, salted egg squid.

Stacked Dim Sum Bar is located at Robertson Quay. Situated right by the river it embraces a uniquely modern design for a Dim Sum restaurant. It is brilliantly designed, embracing an industrial/contemporary theme. They play with warm materials and colours such as woods and dark grey metal. There is a fabulous contrast of bits and pieces of yellow, such as the stools, logo and lighting, this completes the design, adding a touch of life and vibrancy to it. The ambiance is fantastic, right by the river you get a wonderful breeze. Perfectly designed for the modern person, and situated in the city, this restaurant is very welcoming, attracting and luring you in almost. On the contrast the food is very mediocre, the prices cannot justify for the quality and the service is just not quite there. Sadly enough, the food, the very thing that holds the power to make or break the customer’s a lasting impression doesn’t quite live up to its brilliantly crafted façade.
