Definitely a 5-stars! The sliced pork and pork ribs meat was cooked very tender and melts in your mouth. Soup was very flavorful with the right amount of pepper(soup is refillable). Glad that Songfa Bak Kut Teh can be found in a neighborhood mall, makes it more convenient and comfortable to dine in as compared to the branch at Clarke Quay.

Came here for lunch with some coworkers. First time trying bak kut teh. They told me this one is more pepper flavor than herbal. I thought was quite tasty. I got the loin as it is less fatty than the pork rib. I really enjoyed the simple flavors of the broth. This place gets busy come lunch time. We tried to beat the crowd by going at 11:30am. As we ate the line kept forming. Each of us ordered a soup and we shared the peanuts, vegetables, bean curd with chicken feet and fried Chinese donut. The soup gets refilled as you eat. Love at first sip. Best soup ever!!! Highly recommend this place. Their food has a very home made feel to it. Restaurant is pretty big but food taste mom and pop like. Super delicious!!!

Bak Kut Teh is another dish you have to try when visiting Singapore. It was the wife’s coworkers that decided to come here for lunch. We arrived fairly early but still came to a nearly packed restaurant. We were fortunate to be seated without waiting for more than 5 minutes. We each ordered a version of the pork bone soup which comes with 3 pork ribs and an unlimited amount of soup you can drink(the waitress stops periodically to top off your bowl) along with some sides. Needless to say, we did not finish all the food that we ordered. The pork bones were super tender and had a nice peppery flavor. The soup also had the same peppery flavor that paired well with a bowl of white rice. Next time around, I’d skip all the additional dishes and save my stomach for the soup and rice! Arrive early or come during off-peak times to avoid super long lines.

Waited for about 15 minutes on a weekday night at 730pm, you get a ticket stub with a number on it, and a waitress will walk up to everyone along the line with an iPad to take orders. Hence, once you get seated, the food is immediately served to you! The menu is handed to you whilst you queue up. We ordered $ 30.25 worth of food for 2PAX, but it was way too much food! The braised intestines were some of the best I have ever had! The soup, though peppery wasn’t too peppery, and just right for my taste. The pork ribs themselves were very tasty and I enjoyed them. Sadly the dough fritters weren’t freshly fried and crispy, they were soft and doughy! The braised pig trotters was pretty good too, the meat fell right off the bones! All in all, a great place to eat bak kut teh in an air-conditioned environment, no need to queue outside along clark quay!
