Come here if you are shameless about your desire to eat Italian-ish food for $ 6. Nothing about this place is «fresh» or «original» or a «special dining experience» but the flavors are all there — casual restaurant comfort food at its best.

The food standard and QC has dropped very much since my last visit. The Pasta is under seasoned and the chicken is quite dry. I would not recommend going to this place anymore

If you want to look for affordable Italian Restaurant, you definitely has to go try Saizeriya restaurant. You can try grilled spicy chicken wings. Though it does not look appealing as it is, they were well marinated and tasted really good. However, I find this dish really oily though. Next, I ordered Oven grilled Escargot to share with my friends. Not as good as Jack’s place. But hello! Look at the price. The price is really really affordable to have a second or third serving. $ 5.80 for a plate of Escargot, it is really a big WOW! Be careful when it serves, it is piping hot. You are able to enjoy free flow of soft drinks at a price of $ 2.80 per person. Saizeriya Restaurant is definitely a value for money restaurant to enjoy Italian food.

There’s this Singaporean adage that cheap, no good and good, no cheap. Which makes sense, doesn’t it? If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Food here is student friendly, which accounts for the long queues. Many families here, so your screaming kid would not warrant a second glance. The food is very generic and forgettable. What I remembered most vividly was having a carafe of not too shabby house wine at a very decent price. I’d stick to just getting sloshed here, which again, is a very student thing to do.

Want affordable Italian? Try Saizeriya. It is about the cheapest Italian food that i’ve come across in Singapore. $ 5.80 for a plate of creamy and eggy carbonara? You wouldn’t even get that at Pasta Mania. Their squid ink spaghetti is also available at the same price with generous amount of chewy squid rings and smoky and savory ink. A must eat is their Escargots(6 for $ 5.80). It isn’t perfect but the garlic, onion and parsley toppings were quite flavorful and went well with the crunchy meat. Other than the pastas, there are the usual Western chops and Gratin Doria. Another must eat is their truffle chocolate ice cream. It’s imported from Japan and again it’s less than 6 bucks. I like that it’s very fuss free dining and the servers are quite fast with their PDA to take down our orders. They have another outlet at City Square Mall.

Saizeriya is an Italian-themed western food restaurant owned by a Japanese company. During both my visits, I was unimpressed by the quality of food served by Saizeriya. To start off positive, Saizeriya offers western food in decent sized portions at relatively affordable prices. At $ 7.00 for a hot plate chicken chop, it proves to be cheaper than how other restaurants would price their chicken chops in a restaurant setting. However, if one were to expect decent food, I would like to advice one to brace oneself for very poor quality food. When the food was served, it does seem like it had just been quickly heated up using an oven. This, coupled with the extremely fast food serving time of less than 5 minutes, one wonders how the food was prepared. The chicken chop and wedges were dry. The chicken lacked it’s juices and were hard to cut. I felt that Saizeriya might have prepared the food the same way airlines prepare their food for passengers. Overall, it was not satisfactory a meal on both occasions even if it is considered to fulfill requirements for a low budget meal.
