Got my tragus pierced here, which cost about $ 70 in total, with the jewellery included. The piercer was very matter-of-fact, and while I wouldn’t doubt her skill, I feel that it is quite important to reassure someone when you are going to poke a needle through a body part. You pay before piercing, and they fix you an appointment for a follow-up to have a look-see at the piercing, though I didn’t bother. They give you some saline and tell you to clean your piercing daily for two weeks. I think it is quite expensive here, and since they changed owners, it has become a bit cold over the years. I got a tattoo and a septum piercing at this place 9 years ago and the place was cosy, with friendly staff and costs weren’t so marked up. Service was less rude then, even to broke 17 year old me. I would take my business elsewhere.

Not recommended. I got a tattoo done yesterday. The staff was not friendly at all. The women who was supposed to tattoo me was not very nice, and she asked her other friend to do it. They don’t care about you. It was the first time I had a tattoo done and they did not care that much about that, as in they did not inform me about the intensity of the pain, how to take care of it etc. I wanted my tattoo to be 3 cm wide but they told me that one more cm is $ 50 dollars extra(my tattoo was a very simple design). When I emailed the place for an appointment, I told them exactly what I wanted, the size and design(I sent them a picture). But when I arrived, they asked me to find the image again and a sketch of it(I thought they would do it?!). A bit disappointed. However the tattoo experience itself was okay, the tattooer was experienced.

I had my tragus done after a previous botched attempt involving the use of a piercing gun lead to an abscess forming, which had to be incised and drained at A&E… most painful situation EVER! 15 out of 10 on the pain scale! Subsequently, I decided to head to a proper piercing studio and get it done using a piercing needle instead(this is highly recommended for non-earlobe piercings, as it results in less trauma to the ear). I decided on this place as there was a large collection of studs available and it looked clean and professional– so different from the dim tattoo parlors that I’ve always found slightly intimidating. I was very impressed with the service at Primitive Art. My piercing was done in a small cubicle which was very neatly arranged and clean(and this must mean something, for I work in the operating theatre!). Their equipment was all properly sterilized, and individually wrapped. Most of them are one-use, and the larger equipment(like forceps) seemed to be properly cleaned. My piercer marked out the area to be pierced and allowed for adjustments before doing the actual job. The actual job was pretty pain-free(I’m not sure if they used any numbing solution beforehand). I had some issues with the piercing-site infection(because I didn’t really clean it properly… :/) and had to go back multiple times. Each time they were very understanding and accommodating(while nagging at me to clean my wound properly haha). After 4 visits of 2 – 3 weeks apart(all free-of-charge), my wound eventually healed. I’m not sure if the salt solutions and sprays that they recommended played a crucial part, but appreciated their aftercare. This time, I did a daith piercing! Seems like the shop’s gotten quite popular because there were 3 people waiting in front of me to get pierced(but I only had to wait about 30mins or so, all walk-in customers, all young-ish females that would seem very out-of-place in a tattoo parlour). The booth had changed to a slightly smaller(but equally clean) one. My piercer(a different lady) was friendly and confident, and I didn’t feel a thing!(Like I actually felt a split second of pressure and then it was done and I looked up, confused) So impressed with their service. I paid $ 74, including the stud. Would return if I ever wanted another piercing!(but then again I already have too many)

I got my tongue pierced here a few days ago. The guy who pierced my tongue is very skilled. I felt absolutely no pain. It was 80 bucks in total including the bar.

Did my venom bites here last week; the old timers are knowledgable and clear on aftercare, while the younger ones are prompt and a bit clueless. When asked to fill in an indemnity form, I queried why the email field should be included, to the reply«dunno leh, my boss say one.» –___-« The establishment is clean and properly sterile, which is a major confidence booster. It does a roaring trade too; in the half an hour I was there, there were no less than 3 enquiries for tattoos, all upward of $ 160 to $ 600. My piercer took some time to examine my tongue and check if the piercing could firstly be done, and explained the procedure. Everything went smoothly and was over in a pinch(lol) and she instructed me to immediately go suck on some ice and set me up with an appointment to come back for a follow up the day after. I suppose the only silly gripe I have is not being able to distinguish patrons from the younger punkish looking staff with their arms sleeves :/
