What’s unique about Polyart Aquarium is it is open for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. I’m not really sure if they get customers at 3am in the morning but hey, I’m all for having more 24-hour businesses in Singapore. Polyart, as well as its competitor C328 a few units away, is popular with hobbyists for its range of products and fishes available. Prices are reasonable although I must say that when you see dead fishes in the tank, it’s not a good sign of the quality of the livestock. I’m not entirely convinced of how healthy their fishes are. That said, I do appreciate their clear labelling of the fishes and each species of fish(eg guppies, rummy nose tetras and goldfishes etc) being housed separately and not mixed up with other species. Pretty wide range of aquarium equipment and products like filters, substrate, aquarium food and whatnot. They also sell hamsters, bird food and I also saw some creepy crawlies and meal worms in plastic containers.

I’m always out and spend very little time at home, so I never saw the need to keep a pet. But there’s nothing wrong just looking around, right? It was fascinating to check out what species of fish are sold here. I never knew it was legal to breed pufferfish at home! There was even a kind of transparent fish — this fish is see-through and its skeleton is visible! They also had horn snails and shrimp smaller than the size of my bobby pin! I also saw a couple of hamsters and some terrapins. Wasn’t interested in the fish tanks, animal feed and aquarium plants, though. I visited this store on a busy day, so the owners didn’t have time to entertain me.
