I’ve heard so much about Blk 71 being the«Silicon Valley» of Singapore. I had the opportunity to attend a networking event at Plug-In, which made me pretty excited to check out their space. Located in a pretty unassuming building, Plug-In’s space(like most of the spaces here) is renovated and very modern-looking on the inside. Walking in, it felt like a community centre; there were flyers advertising new startups, tables that were«for entrepreneurs only», a wall covered in photos of previous events, and even random internet culture here and there(photos of the troll meme is a good example.) Further in, there’s a conference area which can be opened up into one big room for larger events. Of course, it was hooked up with a good quality projector and sound system. The location is not bad either, as it’s about a 5 – 7 minute walk from the one-north MRT. Definitely a great spot for holding events and meeting local entrepreneurs!

If Singapore had a Silicon Valley, it would be called Silicon Block, and the Plug-In@Blk71 will be the aorta. This co-working space is the start-up hub of Singapore and provides free space to anyone who has a tech start-up idea. They run exciting events and is a real fun place to work out off!
