Let me be fair and state somethings upfront first: 1) wifey was expecting so we only ordered the medium well sirloin steak(which was dry and tough) and didn’t expect that the name of the store correctly reflects the quality, 2) we ordered only 1 portion to share, so what I reviewed is only the ribs, steak and sides. Ribs It’s called ‘baby ribs’ not because it’s from a suckling pig but the ribs are tiny, as in baby sized! Portions size is very sad and I’ve eaten ribs which were at least twice the size! If the steaks cannot be judged because of our dietary restrictions, our hope lies with the ribs which was bad. Sides We had mashed potatoes and fries. Fries are ok, standard. Mash Ed are quite dry but other than that, it’s ok too. But the highlight would be the service standards(hence the 1 star rating). We asked for tap water from 4 waiters and waited for almost half hours. One of the waitress even asked who we ordered from! …how would know their names… We said WARM water but were served cold water when it finally come. Luckily the change was promptly made. Once bitten, twice shy.

I had grilled salmon, the baby back ribs is so recommend! Of course the outback special one. The onion rings also a good choose!

I stopped in here yesterday at lunchtime when things were rather quiet so I got my choice of table right away. My server took my beer order and promptly got some of the fabulous brown bread with butter. Good start and was quickly followed up by the spinach/artichoke dip with chips. I cannot express how tasty this dip is and could really just be a meal on its own. For the main I went with the sirloin which the server expertly upsold me on the 10 oz size. Screw it, I’m on vacation so I went with that. The meat was cooked exactly as requested and was very tasty. Good side of veggies and mash potatoes.

Comfort food at hearty portions sums up my overall experience at this America’s largest steakhouse chain in the world. It is quite difficult to fault the Kookabura wings($ 14.90) or the Typhoon Bloom($ 14.90) for being too heavy on seasonings because it is probably staying faithfully to the U.S. recipe. However, I wondered if some spice rub has been forgotten as the«spicy» wings were merely very savoury, juicy but not spicy at all. Similarly, the deep fried onion rings did not«blow» me away with the grease and sogginess. Nonetheless, the blue cheese dressing and signature bloom sauce in both dishes respectively were rich, creamy and tasty. In fact, this was what happened to the Spinach Artichoke Dip($ 13.90) which made it so difficult to resist from scooping the baked cheesy goodness with taco chips. Warm, fluffy with subtle honey-like sweetness from the molasses, the complimentary starter of wheat bush bread, was so delicious that it was wiped off the table in no seconds. I was disappointed by the 10 Oz of New York Strip Steak($ 36.90) as well as the 10 Oz Slow Roasted and Seared Prime Rib($ 37.90) as the texture were either too sinewy or too rare when we ordered the Medium Rare. Both steaks also seemed to be relatively under-seasoned as compared to the other mains. The excellent sides of baked sweet potatoes and buttered corn cob were wonderfully executed, especially the steaming sweet potato whose aroma was enhanced by the slab of butter. My favourite is none other than the Grilled Salmon($ 26.90). It’s moist and lovely charred edges, though my table partners ranted that some parts of the fish were on the salty side. Perhaps I was lucky to get the decent parts, which were gratifyingly delicious without the dip. The idea of massive plates did not dawn upon me until we reached the desserts. They looked quite similar in appearances due to the humongous scoop of orangey vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. The Banana Nut Cake with Toffee Sauce($ 12.90) had some springy kueh-like texture which was different from the usual tender and fluffy baked banana cakes. The Chocolate Thunder($ 14.90) is also another devilishly decadent treat with pecan brownie buried beneath the gooey heaven. But it was the Cinnamon Oblivion($ 13.90) that sent me to another world of sugar. There isn’t any of the cake component, but instead one gets cinnamon croutons, pecans, warm cinnamon apples swimming in the pool of caramel sauce. I was so immersed into this dessert that I became oblivious to surrounding environment, happily tucking into this in sheer bliss.

Horrible. Not even close to those that are in the states. Salad tasted old, ribeye quality was very low. I had to spit out three bites cause I couldn’t chew it and forced down a few others. No seasoning on the steak or vegetables. The baked potato was decent but only about the size of a tennis ball.

This was my third time eating here. This time with Groupon. I had the black pepper steak and my friend had the grilled salmon with pilaf rice. The black pepper steak was unevenly cooked and salmon slightly overcooked. The waiter messed up and forgot our order. We ended up waiting almost an hour. But the manager was kind enough to offer us a free desert, which more than made up for the frustration. Previous two experiences were good so I’ll take this as an anomaly and give four stars. Hopefully the next will be a positive one.

Since we visited Outback Steakhouse on a Sunday evening, it was crowded and even though I had reservation it took some time to get seats. The waiter gave us a heads up that many items were finished due to the huge crowd. We ordered Chicken and Ribs combo with a drink and soup. We didn’t get the soup, but were compensated by a loaf of bread n butter. Even though the place was crowded, our orders came reasonably in time. The chicken was mildly flavored, but juicy and soft. The ribs were delicious. For Dessert, we ordered a Cheesecake which was nice. Overall an OKish experience.

As much as I dislike perfunctory reviews, there’s not much to say about Outback. Outback used to be a solid three stars, but the menu’s shrunk, and the Onion Blossom is no longer a blossom! It’s basically now the onion ring loaf similar to what’s being served at Tony Roma’s, just well… not as well done. I’ve decided I just don’t think it’s fair to all my other 3 star rated places if this place got 3 stars as well. I had the tuna salad, and it was just overly peppery to the point you couldn’t really appreciate the flavour of the fish. The wasabi dressing was quite pleasant, but the vegetables were kinda wilted, the entire dish looked like someone had just removed the cling film after taking it out of the fridge. My mum’s steak was seasoned well, and actually quite delicious.(Relatively good value too!) The mashed potatoes were rich, and when brought home, made a great shepherd’s pie topping. The nachos were crisp, light, tasting like they were just fried. The topping was a little cold, the cheese not properly fried, but the beef was really well marinated and very tasty. One thing right, one thing wrong. That really felt like the story of my meal at Outback. I’m probably still end up going back though, because at the end of the day, Outback’s one of those easy choices for casual dining… and… well. Lazy people make lazy decisions!

Appetizer Combo The mushrooms were breaded & fried well. A tad salty tho… The Aussie Cheese fries were thick-cut & lovely cheese on top. The wings were supposed to be spicy but NOT! Crispy but rather bland. Seafood Pasta Good sauce that’s not runny and good body flavor… Pasta cooked till al dente too. Generous amount of ingredients. Like! Ribeye Hub is slightly ‘underwhelmed’ by the cut. Other than the size of it, he is not very impressed. The mash is not bad and vege side is forgettable. Seems like the pasta is a better deal than the steak. So if you are looking for a good cut, not quite here. I gave only 2 stars as its meant to be a STEAKHOUSE so the nice pasta shouldn’t count when the steak is only average.

Simple comfort Australian dishes. Lots of meat, huge ass portions. A little on the pricey side for their steaks which weren’t fantastic. I preferred the other dishes such as the Chicken Quesadilla– Grilled flour tortilla stuffed with grilled chicken breast sauteed mushrooms, bacon, melted cheese and served with honey mustard. The Seafood Pasta was very hearty as well. There’s something comforting about a simple tomato based pasta. Perhaps it’s the reminder of the youthful carefree days of smearing bolognese all over my face as i slurp my noodles. The fettuccine was perfectly cooked to maintain a nice crunch. Desserts were one helluva disaster. Save that space, get some italian gelato from Alfero at Marina Square.

Was invited to this place for a food review recently and got the chance to try out quite a range on their menu. What surprises me is that this place is not run by Australians but more of Filipinos. However this does not mean that the food is not good. On the contrary, the hospitality is warm and so is the bread(free, as starters). I would say their bar food/appetizers are pretty normal and the desserts are rather bad, but their steaks and mains are quite good. Though slightly pricey, the sirloin I had was tender and juicy. The seafood pasta was also al dente and flavorsome. If you are really hungry and in the Millenia area, do consider Outback. Just remember to go in with not high expectations and great company and you will be fine.

It used to be my favourite place to go and I’d think day and night about the blooming onions, the blondie and the alice spring chicken. But recently, it’s been a disappointment. The food standards have dropped, and their menu have shrunk. There’s no longer blondie in the dessert column and the blooming onion’s just not as impressive. But the bushman bread and the bleu cheese dip with buffalo wings are still good. The mushrooms are okay, but certainly not like before anymore.

Went to have a salad and steak. Food was pretty okay — but the service was amazing. Was taken away by the waitress who was very sensitive, caring and took time to ensure we were comfortable. How is this Australian food, I wonder — but commercially, since it’s a chain — I’m assuming it’s wattered down international options in general — as the menu didn’t seem specifically«Australian». What I Love: The service was just amazing, the main reason why the place got 4 stars from me — as I would have rated it 3 as a whole, but the staff were so attentive — and service to me is imperative to the whole dining experience — that the extra star was well-earned. The waitress and manager was very welcoming — and helped find substitutes for sauces — and it was just a pleasant experience overall. I had a salad and enjoyed it — and they serving portions are pretty generous. What I Don’t Love: Absolutely nothing! ;D

It’s a really great place to go for a solid steak-out. Hur hur. Jokes aside, its serves a killer tenderloin. Cooked perfectly medium rare, its been etched deep the my memory of my taste buds. Just as you sit down, you’re served one of the nicest breads out there. I don’t know what goes into it but its brown in colour, has a beautiful crispy crust and you can tell it’s just out of the oven. It’s an excellent start to a fulfilling meal. The prime rib is also excellent and really worth a try!

When you have the word ‘steakhouse’ as part of the name of the restaurant, you better be pretty darn sure that you serve good steaks. But my experience at Outback Steakhouse is certainly far from ‘good’… Last Sunday I went with my family to the restaurant for an early dinner and it is one of my worst dining experiences. Logically, since you are at a steakhouse, you will order a steak. And so I did. Our table of 10 ordered several steaks, and when the waitress came, she couldn’t even name the steak properly. Ok, giving her some benefit of doubt, maybe she’s new. And then when my steak came, all still looks promising until I cut the first piece and ate it. To my horror, the steak was not only tough, there was way too much blood in the steak(FYI, I ordered medium rare). The side orders were piping hot, yet the steak was a little cold. By that time, there were a lot more people seated in the restaurant and so the staffs were not attentive at all(hence did not see me waving at them; gave up changing my steak). They are most helpful only when you are about to order, and when you want to clear your plates. They didn’t even bother to fill up our cups when they had been empty for about 20 minutes. To sum up, it’s just one bloody bad experience.
