I am thoroughly disappointed with NeNe Chicken. Maybe I should have dine there when it just opened. I went after a friend raved about the spicy sauce and how the fried chicken was so good. On the day I went, the spicy sauce was no longer available. I am not sure if it is for good for just that they have ran out of it that evening. I wished the cashier had informed me of the estimated wait time while I was ordering instead of saying nothing at all. I only knew of it 10 minutes after I overheard her telling another customer it would be a 45 mins wait. In the end, I waited about 45 – 50 mins for my food. I ordered the NeNePop(popcorn chicken) which is served over a cup of soda pop(maybe that explains its name) and 8 pc wings and sticks in bulgogi, with a side of swicy(sweet and spicy, but more sweet than spicy) sauce as a dip. The popcorn chicken was cold, not sure if it was because it was sitting above the soda. It was normal, nothing special about it. The bulgogi wings were also ok, nothing fabulous. Maybe I should have just ordered the 2 pc meal or classic chicken which were probably deep fried? I did not like that they asked for your mobile number. The reason they gave was so that they could give you a missed call when your order was ready. There were buzzers but somehow it was only given to those who were dining in. I don’t think I will dine at NeNe Chicken again, unless the waiting time is short, like under 5 minutes or so. Fast food this is not, even though it looks like a fast food joint.

Obsessed with KFC(kr fried chicken) I was excited to try NeNe Chicken, a chain that specializes in cripsy chicken from Korea. Although the prices are a bit steep, the set menus are good. The Swicy chicken was a bit too sweet, not spicy enough for me, however the popcorn chicken was pretty tasty. My favorite part was the«accessories» that were given in the meal. A pair of plastic gloves, a «chicken bone» trash can at every table, a pack of picked radishes(very authentically korean) and wet towels. Genius. Adjust the sauce and I think we have a winner here.
