I give Mr Bean credit for its food innovation. If you are looking for the traditional silky smooth bean curd or soya milk where you can actually taste the bean, then Mr Bean will be a disappointment. But for a quick and simple breakfast or a snack, Mr Bean should be considered healthier. I like the lychee pop soya milk which is so good. It started as a special but became a permanent on the menu in most outlets due to demand. Lychee juice will burst out of the little translucent pearl when you bite it. Delicious and refreshing. Now I’m hoping the royale hazelnut chocolate pancake will also be part of its usual menu too. It is much richer than the double chocolate, and has the rich dark chocolate taste. Strawberry cream cheese pancake also makes a delightful dessert snack, not too sweet or creamy. For the savory, I like the egg mayo which is coarsely chopped hard boiled egg mixed with a bit of mayo. The new flavor on offer — chicken mayo — is surprisingly good. Chopped chicken seasoned with rosemary and black pepper and mayo in pancake is a good hearty option for a quick meal. Another hot item which is quite popular is the soya ice cream. Probably a perfect cold treat for those who are lactose intolerant.
