One of the few older stalls which survived the upgrading, Min Ji Laksa has a rather unique taste that I find different from other places. The laksa gravy isn’t very thick, but feels just right to my palate. Also, there is no overdose of the shrimp taste so strong in other laksas. Plus, the gravy doesn’t feel textured, like there’s a lot of stuff in it, but smooth and clear(as clear as spicy gravy can be, anyway!). The ingredients are all fresh, especially the bee hoon. The strands are chewy and don’t stick together. You can ask nicely for more tau pok or fish cake slices and the auntie will oblige. The laksa is served in the traditional porcelain bowl, but the bee hoon isn’t cut so you won’t be able to use only the spoon to eat it.
