McDonald’s

I’ve never written a review about a McDonald’s before, partly because I feel one should not readily admit they go to them… but… here we go…
This is my local 24 hour McDonald’s restaurant and I like the place. It is 10am on a Thursday and they are playing a very old jazz/​soft vocal (English and foreign language) /​elevator music inter spaced with Chinese New Year music — Super odd, but I like the randomness of it! and it just shouts local despite being an international chain. Some of the Jazz is pretty nice too actually. Close your eyes and you will feel like you are in a distant European jazz club in the heart of Paris!
The décor is usual McDonald style with garish colours that makes your eyes cringe. Perhaps it makes up for the dim lighting that is away from the window. I felt like i needed a torch just looking in that direction. By the window though is fine, or you can even sit outside.
Staff here are always friendly and if you come at 2am there is a lovely Uncle who is very funny, always cracks great jokes, serves with passion and brightens anyone’s mood. I want to employ the guy.
Food… As with all Mcdonalds, you get what you pay for pretty much. My coffee is weak, bitter, pretty awful actually, but put some milk and sugar in it and remember the price including a muffin (wholegrain of course…) with that salty but satisfying sausage patty and you are all good. Hey, 5* hotel chefs enjoy eating one every now and then! So the coffee… Let’s just say now I remember why I always have orange juice instead here… there was no stirrer so they lose a whole star! And the milk was almost empty. But the refills for the caffeine liquid were available. This would not happen when my main man is here! So… For service come when everyone else should (should) be sleeping.
This is a great place that still serves ice cream at 3am and will satisfy midnight munchies, not quality but it fills a hole and sometimes we all (at least I do) get a craving for some of those fries and a sausage muffin.
