MAAD stands for Market for Artists and Designers, and it’s held monthly (usually the first Friday of the month.) You can always check their Facebook page for upcoming dates.
Every month there is a different theme, and usually there is something special that goes on, whether it’s live music, a fashion brand that will debut, or artists that can sketch your portraits.
Yes, there are fringe activities, but the core of this market is of course, the artists and designers that sell their wares! You can find everything from fashion accessories and home décor, to prints and cool tees.
As they usually start around 5 PM, it’s a great place to walk through after work before cocktails and dinner. It’s location in Red Dot Traffic Building is perfect, as it’s near Tanjong Pagar MRT, on the edge of CBD, and near hip spots like Duxton Hill, Tras Street, and Keong Saik Road. Stop by if they’re operating– hey, it’s free admission!
