Located on the 3rd floor of the central. It’s pretty easy to get to, unless you are like me, and got lost from the MRT station to the 3rd floor lol. They have 3 different stages at Lock Down SG, we tried the easier room«Bail Out» We were handcuffed with a TSA lock and directed into a jail cell, which we were supposed to break out of. We managed to break out of the jail cell easily, but it took us the remaining hour to try and get out of the room, we were came super close to doing so!!! It takes alot of thinking, brain power and creativeness to play this, and playing this right after work wasn’t the best idea. I was brain dead LOL! They will give you a cordless phone with you can call them on, to ask them for clues, like, we asked them if the writings on the wall meant anything, or if the toy blocks were supposed be lead us to a combination for the locker. All in all, quite a fun place to go to with your witty friends. We were told that people managed to break out within 30 minutes, which just blows my mind! We paid $ 22/pax for peak period(after 7pm)

I’ve never heard of «escape room games» until I came to Singapore. No, it’s not some sort of physical challenge where they restrain you and you have to escape«David Blaine» style. Rather, it’s a series of brain teasers that you solve as a team to get yourself out of a locked room. After Steffi C suggested this as a CMYE and Ping L chimed in and agreed, I figured we should give it a try. Christina N’s glowing review made me decide to give Lock Down a try. You can reserve the room online, however you’ll have to pay for 3 pax upfront so you better be sure that your friends are coming! You can pay for additional people on arrival. Also, you’ll have to leave your NRIC number with the staff. Singapore visitors are not spared either; you’ll have to leave your passport number to be able to play. If you’re comfortable doing this, you’ll have no issues. Depending on the game you’re playing, you’ll also have to agree to certain conditions. For example, since our game was called«Bail Out», we had to sign an agreement that allowed us to be handcuffed. Once we were handcuffed, we were escorted into a room that had a jail cell in it. We all got locked in the jail cell, was told we had an hour, and were left locked in the room. Without giving too much away, the game requires a little bit of practicality, attention to detail, and mostly logic skills. I thought our team did pretty well; we were only 2 clues away from escaping! Perhaps if we had 20 more minutes, we would’ve solved the case. I really enjoyed the game because there were a lot of clever elements, and the moment you figure them out it’s super exciting. If there is any advice I can give, I’d say attention to detail is key, and there will be extraneous clues presented to throw you off. There is no limit to the amount of times you can call the staff to ask for tips. It was just difficult for our team to ask questions simply because we didn’t know what we could ask! But feel free to ask them anything; you never know what you’ll get out of them. Despite the fact that you have to leave personal information such as your NRIC/passport number, I really enjoyed my one hour at Lock Down and wouldn’t hesitate to come back and try another puzzle!

Decided to join the CYME event as I have never tried the Singapore version of escape room game but had tried 4 times of the Real Escape Game with Scraps(Japanese version but in English) for different themes. First of all, we need to lock our stuffs in the locker provided and we need to sign a consent form before playing. Like any other escape games, this one has also 1 hour time limit. Our team played the«Bail out». I have heard from my friend that one of the escape games has handcuffs on it. And I guess, this what what she referred to while telling me about her experience with Escape games. Our team of 5 were handcuffed and we were«thrown into jail». After figuring out on how we can unlock ourselves from the jail, we had to figure out how to unlock ourselves from the cuffs and there are other clues that we need to look for(sorry, won’t be giving spoilers out) — try for yourselves :) We managed to solve 85−90% of the game but was out of time when we did not figure out how to get another code to unlock one of the locked cabinets. One thing to note of, read instructions carefully and get plenty of help from the staffs. We didn’t really know what to ask and we didn’t fully make use of the staffs for clues. Overall, it was a great game. Might be a little tight in the room if there’s 8 people. But more people can crack the codes easier. Will definitely be back for other rooms. Location wise, it is in the middle of level 3 of «the Central». Had difficulty finding my way and was called out by the CM, Michelle. It is definitely a good team bonding game or ice breaker game to socialize with others. Look forward to more events like this. P. S. They are selling limited edition(700 only) Detective iBrow Bear(40cm by 25cm) at $ 29 each and it includes a free $ 10 Lockdown voucher for future games. Proceeds will be donated to WWF Singapore. Another escape room game! Have I confessed that I’m an addict already? :X Played two games in a role this time. «Top Secret» was so difficult we kept asking for clues, so we didnt really feel a sense of satisfaction when we got out. Decided to play«Bail out» too and it was much more satisfying since we only asked for help twice for the final clue. Service here is great too — staff is polite and friendly, and even gave us a $ 2 discount for playing a second room :) Will definitely recommend this and return again for the final room!
