Was looking for White Bee Hoon at the popular White Restaurant at The Punggol Settlement. Then again, the long queue daunted me. I don’t feel that the White Bee Hoon there deserves such a long queue(personal feeling though) and so decided to roam around to source for alternate dinner. Walked through an almost dead dining town on a Monday night and saw an eatery called Leong Ji Signature on level 2. They were selling Zi Char and decided to see what they offered. Was surprised they offered the White Bee Hoon too and decided to order a plate to try plus the Prawn Paste Chicken aka Har Cheong Kai. The White Bee Hoon was pretty moist with good amount of sauce to go with and I personally felt that it was just as good as the other outlet. But the Har Cheong Kai was not as good due to the paste they use to marinate it in. It tastes pretty hard rather than crispy. Was leaving when I over heard another table order the Chao Ta Bee Hoon. Hmmm… Think I am going back again to try their other dishes.

Tried both the horfun and homemade tofu and it was nice. The«chaipoh» horfun consist of thin white noodles and it has a slight burnt aftertaste which liners in my mouth for a long time. The sliced fish is fresh without the usual«disguising» staleness that I hv encountered elsewhere. Definitely worth trying! The homemade tofu with minced meat has a complex taste. Tofu, slightly fried, blended well with sesame oil and soya source to give a very oriental taste and it is topped with salted minced meat. It taste great if eaten together. Will be back to try other dishes!
