I’m still a fan of this place as a best bang for buck dessert place. Venue wise this isn’t so impressive but I’ve found this place generally has no wait. Also the store is located in a nice area walkable in any direction to another tourist spot. Bön ape

My friends and I wanted desserts post dinner. Since the marina square branch was here, we decided to head here for some cakes. I am a fan of the cakes but the choice to place a WHOPPING $ 35 cover charge per head is beyond ridiculous. I’ve travelled to many places before and have been to the branch in NYC as well. This is the MOST ridiculous cover charge for a cake shop to charge. One cake per person is understandable but $ 35!?! I’m not buying a whole cake per person nor am I paying so much for a moet &chandon. Clearly the management needs to rethink if they care about keeping their shop empty or to have satisfied customers. Beyond ridiculous.

The store in Marina Square is closed and they have now moved to a new location at 1 Fullerton. I love this new location, it’s airy and bright and best of all, it’s right beside the Merlion! I prefer this to giant space-ship interior of the Somerset branch. I returned with some visitors after we took pictures at the Merlion. Seems like none of the tourists took notice of the place as it was literally empty when we entered. It’s so refreshing to take shelter from the sun and all the sight-seeing while still being able to take in the view of the Merlion, the happy visitors all trying to take photos of the merlion gushing water into their mouths and at the same time sample some delicious cakes!

Maybe we were there early or what is considered early on a week night at close to 8pm? It was fairly empty and service was decent. It got packed from 830pm and service was probably non-existent by then as there were only 2 staff on duty. To save time, we actually went to the cashier to pay our bill rather than wait for the server to come over with the bill. I find that works better at places where it is understaffed and you can be on your way faster. We had the original mille crêpe and banana mille crêpe. I still feel the original mille crêpe is the best item on the menu so far. The banana mille crêpe is made of sponge cake with cream and banana. It is not very sweet(wonder if it has been toned down for local taste?) and the fresh cream is just so good. It is definitely not similar to a banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery in NYC but is a distant cousin instead. It is considered a pricey after dinner dessert and drink. $ 30 for 2 slices of cakes and 2 drinks.

Horrible service if you ever need an urgent cake order. They only sells whole cakes if you order it online, and that needs 3 days notice. And they do not allow a pick up over the counter if you did not pre-order. If you are desperate, then they will sell to you on a per slice price for the whole cake. Atrocious. For the record, their Mille-crêpe cake keeps horribly in this weather. So don’t bother buying it home anyway. I miss NYC. No more Lady M for me anymore. I think I don’t have to take this attitude for a cake.

Lady Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! every piece of confection here is an eye candy. your sitting in their corner of a shop here will also make you an eye candy to all those who are visiting merlion park. not a bad place to sip a little something and sweeten your life, a little more than you probably should, with a view that, when clear of the throng of tourists, is also an eye candy. service can be slow but always courteous. light bites are available for those who crave a little something savoury. but it is always their desserts that you are after. be it an earl grey chocolate mont blanc, red velvet or a tarte a la mangue, you will find yourself incapable of saying no at first sight. but after that effusive first bite and a subsequent price fright, you might well wait till someone else is paying, before returning? but if that price point helps to keep the crowd away, i’ll definitely still plonk my ass here once every so often. and the music in the background pipes… Giuchie, Giuchie, ya ya dada(Da da oh, yeah) Giuchie, Giuchie, ya ya here(Ooh, oh, oh) Signature or matcha ya ya(Oh, oh, oh…) Mille Crêpes @ lady M! Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?(Ce soir) Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?(All my sistas, yeah) Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?(Ce soir) Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?(Come on! Uh) and your answer?;)
