Couldn’t find any reviews on Unilocal.Investigated further, Koon BKT had been rebranded from XO Chicken Pot. They have some photos plastered on their walls — I suppose it’s of celebrities but I’m hopeless at identifying any. Had the signature spare rib soup(SGD$ 8) — it comes with 2 spare ribs. Meat on it is tender and the pepper soup has a good kick to it. Like any great BKT restaurant — the soup is free flow. Kudos to the Lady Boss — she heard us complimenting the soup and came back shortly with top-ups! The sesame oil chicken(SGD$ 6) came with a layer of oil so thick it covers 1⁄3 of the gravy. Not sure why there’s a need to use so much oil. The chicken really taste more like rice wine chicken — can’t really taste the sesame oil. Last notable dish was the egg and tomato soup(SGD$ 5). Feels like a dish that came out of your mum’s kitchen — nothing fancy, yet the simple combination of egg and tomato just hits the spot perfectly.
