Bubble tea craze aside, this is some legit bubble tea. In my opinion, the best bubble tea in Singapore(and LA, not that that’s saying much). There’s something about Koi that makes it taste so good, maybe it’s the type of milk they use, maybe it’s the pearls — maybe it’s both. The milk just tastes different — slightly creamier and fuller in taste, perhaps? Yet, it gives just the right amount of creamy-ness without being overpowering, letting the flavor of the tea balance the milk out. This gives your Bubble Tea the perfect consistency, every single time. The pearls are made the perfect texture, probably the best I’ve tasted(chewy & bouncy but not too hard) and slightlyyy smaller than your average pearl size making it super fun it sip /chew on. The slightly smaller pearl size also gives you the perfect pearl/tea ratio when you sip it up, if that even makes sense. My favorites? The regular Milk Tea, Hazelnut Milk Tea or Honey Milk Tea — with pearls! Oh and, if you’re into grass jelly, you must ask for both grass jelly AND pearls! I love that they give you freshly made huge chunks of grass jelly here instead of shredded up pieces like at most bubble tea places. There can be a little bit of a wait for Koi, but no where near when the Bubble Tea craze was at its peak. Still, their standards have remained high and I’d pick Koi over Gong Cha or Each-a-Cup any day.
