I liked it the first time I had it. My subsequent visit was meh. The spicy honey chicken was not crispy and was very tough and dry. It made me wonder if the chicken was cooked a few times to render it so. You could only request for a mixture(honey and spicy honey) if you ordered the large portion. The regular portion was good as a small meal or snack as it came with 2 pieces of rice cakes and 2 mini hash brown. Then the auntie dropped a coin into the bowl of chicken and instead of scooping out the affected area, she tried to fish for the coin. I saw the couple behind me looked at the scene in horror, wondering if they should eat there. I left, so I did not know if she did take out those meat that were in contact with the coin in the end. I would buy from it again, but only if I know the chicken were freshly fried or if there were plenty of people queuing and the staff was frying new batches constantly.

I had my first pop-corn chicken in a cup near Ehwa Unviersity in Seoul so i was feeling thankful that we have something similar in Singapore. The sauce is as good but nothing else matches my experience in Seoul. The rice cake was overcooked, chicken bits too tough. Thank goodness the tatter tots was as it should be. still i think i will return. why? because i miss Seoul. oh and also because they have this item called the royal tteokbokki which i have never seen before. i may just want to give it a taste.
