If your into Hello Kitty, this store is for you. A large part of the store is Hello Kitty items. Staff is friendly. Prices, I am not sure compared to other locations. I actually only found this store walking through mall when a signed pointed to it upstairs on the second floor. Since I was already in the mall, I stopped in real quick to see what they carried. I am glad I did. Well worth the brief stop.

As a hardcore Hello Kitty collector, Kai Kai was definitely my favorite store in Singapore. They have current product lines, but most of the store is an amazing mix of older products, which is exactly what I look for. Not an official store(yes everything is real), but it’s better than any Sanrio. The aunties here are so nice and extremely helpful — they hovered a lot like at the Marina Square Sanrio, but were so friendly it was obvious they were just watching if I needed help. Things are mostly out for you to look at, but I needed them to take plushies and figurines out of the window display. It’s weird that all of their small items were zip tied to the display — I thought there was no crime in Singapore? Would anyone really risk caning for a $ 3 sticker? Prices varied — some were reasonable, some things I passed on because I could find it cheaper on ebay from sellers in Japan and Hong Kong. The store is mainly Hello Kitty focused, but they did have some things of other characters. It’s also the only store that I found US licensed Hello Kitty products like some Loungefly and I guess the owner went to the Hello Kitty Convention in LA last year because she had some things from there. Priced high, but still cheaper than you would pay on ebay with shipping to Singapore. For locals, I believe they also have a discount card for 10% off future purchases if you spend a certain amount/year. My friends on instagram said Kai Kai is the best Hello Kitty store in Singapore and it did live up to the hype — best selection, decent pricing, well organized and nice ladies. There really wasn’t much else worth looking at in this mall, but go outside and grab some Hokkaido ice cream and hang out by Clark Quay for a bit while you’re there.

My favourite store for Sanrio(read: Bad Badtz Maru) products in Singapore! Being a fan of BBM is incredibly difficult. Sanrio doesn’t produce many items with this character and it is often overshadowed by the Hello Kitties/My Melodys/Pom Pom Purins. What a pity because BBM is one of the few(only?) badass characters that can appeal to both genders, and it’s spiky-haired badass attitude is such a refreshing change to the saccharine sweetness of the rest of the Sanrio characters. I’ve been collecting BBM products for some time and this is my favourite store in Singapore for this endeavor. They stock a wide range of products, sourced from Japan, Hong Kong, Korea and the U.S. They get new stock about once every 2 weeks and their facebook page is frequently updated with news of their latest products. You can browse through their online catalogue and place orders/reservations before heading to the store. Pre-orders are accepted as well. The staff at this shop are friendly and knowledgeable; Ask about any character and they will willingly bring you around the shop to show you the relevant products. They have the huge catalogue that Sanrio Japan produces(twice a year, I think) and if time isn’t an issue, you can browse through it and ask them to help you to order specific products. You have to place a 50% deposit for this service. It takes about 2 – 3 weeks for your order to arrive, and they’ll give you a call when your items are here. Spend $ 200 here(can be in multiple receipts) and you’ll qualify as a VIP member, which gives you 10% off storewide!
