Every now and then I need to contain myself. I acquire way too many things(I can’t help it) and eventually it leads me to buy one more thing to organise it all. Enter Howards Storage World! This small chain is basically like The Container Store in the US, but smaller. Still, it has the same aim– to provide a whole bunch of things that will help you store or organise all of your stuff! You can find everything from bathroom accessories to Elfa brand storage systems, bike racks, wine racks, and big Tupperware for other miscellaneous items. They also have a small assortment of cleaning and laundry products too, almost like a Bed Bath and Beyond. This time around, I walked away with a squeegee so my shower can finally look somewhat crystal clear. If I ever need anything else, I won’t hesitate to stop by again!

While I’ve come to the conclusion that my room will never be Ikea chic(lies, all lies!), I do put in quite a bit of effort to not have it explode into a junk yard. I do what I can, and usually turn to online resources for inspiration. Procurement, more often than not, comes from HSW. Little grooved boxes for batteries, stackable compartments for my mass of coins leftover from traveling, a tiny bar of I-have-no-idea-what that promises to remove all stains — whoever knew these were missing from my life? I bought a small dustbin today, the step sort whereby the lid flips open with a very satisfying clang. I think it’s under the house brand, and cost me about $ 25. That was pretty ok, though the shinier ones of the same size from some hoity toity brand would set me back three times as much. That’s one of my main gripes. Everything’s so pretty but so costly. And every time I browse through, I find another nifty item that I absolutely must have and would have bought if not for the ridiculously marked up price tag. The same item in Australia or the UK would cost a mere fraction! Anyhow, I love my new dustbin. And the friendly dudes behind the counter who take the time to address my endless questions of «what’s that/does it work/do you have a new one?»
