The first thing you will notice when you step into this ‘coffee shop’ is the long queue at the punggol nasi lemak stall but I don’t understand why people will queue up for that as the chee chiong fun there tastes so much better. The plate or chee chiong fun arrives at your table and the tantalizing smell reaches your nose. At once glance you can tell that it is the authentic hong kong style chee chiong fun, judging from the thinness of the skin. Once you bite into the rice roll, the prawn filling inside is just so succulent and juicy and bouncy too which means they use fresh prawns. There is a light soy sauce concoction which goes very well with the dish and yet it is not too salty that it overcomes the flavours of the rice roll. The char siew version is also yummy with lots of filling given. Goes to show that this stall is not stingy with its ingredients. Will definitely keep going back to eat as it’s the most yummy rice roll I have tried so far, most of them in Singapore are really thick and the sauce is too overpowering as well.
