Having the entertainer app voucher, I decided to try this with a friend here and we both ordered the«premium» version of the Chirashi that costs 60 bucks a plate. To my horrors there was salmon sashimi, processed crab sticks and rice which didn’t even taste like Japanese rice. I’m really curious if this was the«premium» version, what the cheaper version would consist of. Where are the premium ingredients like scallop? Or otoro? Or even one or two small pieces of uni? I really can’t believe they put PROCESSEDCRABSTICKS and still charged $ 60 a plate??? Even with the 1 – 1 voucher… The bill came up to $ 35 per person, it would still be too expensive for ingredients which were given. They were obviously very poorly staffed and the poor manager seemed to be running everywhere in a rush trying his best when it wasn’t even crowded to begin with. I do applaud his effort, but this restaurant would not last much longer and I’m pretty sure of it. This place makes Sushi Tei seem like a 6Star restaurant. 1 Star — for effort from the managers part

I wanted very much to like this place — the people are nice, they clearly entertain plenty of regulars that seem to treat this place as their round-the-corner eatery, and it’s very conveniently located at the forum shopping mall. but the food, while adequate, doesn’t nearly satisfy me nearly as much as akashi(which is similar in price) or sushi tei(which is great value). the wait for food is a little long — I think the kitchen is small and minimally helmed — and they know it. seemingly home cooked, slightly greasy, lotus chips end up on the table after you order, and they’ll tide you over until food comes(except that the oiliness can get a little sickening). it’s got a large menu for a small place, and well. it’s all sort of only-okay: take for example the sashimi, which could be fresher and more tender, the salmon mentaiko which was slightly overcooked, and a uni truffle chawanmushi that sounds fantastic but falls quite far from the splendour that its ingredients suggest(this was disappointing as the truffle was barely noticeable, the egg was a bit on the firm side, and the tiny cooked uni had lost its unctuous lushness). I don’t want to disparage the place too much — but expectations were rather high and they fell short of it. if you’re so lucky as to live around the corner, perhaps this could be your sake-drinking round-the-corner(as it appeared to be for quite a few patrons) but if not — even the sushi counter at isetan might do you just as well.

I was treated to the omakase dinner last night and was absolutely delighted with the quality of the food for the price of the meal. The appetizers were tasty and fresh as were the sashimi. I particularly liked the shrimp which was plump and fresh. The chirashi rice was substantial as was the cod roe rice and were true fillers that rounded off the meal and left me more full than I anticipated as I was warned about the tiny portions. All this for $ 30!!! Amazing value!

Awesome shabu shabu. We got the special all you can eat shabu shabu for 98 $(2 pax). Everything was delicious. The set comes with 2 types of beef — US Angus and NZ strip loin. I ate too much. The staff also were perfect. Will definitely come back here!
