The closest thing to an American style coffee shop in Singapore. Cups’n’Canvas is a bohemian style café parked next to a contemporary gallery that really connected with my American sensibility. Abbreviated menu. Plates are well made with perfect portion size. Breakfast for two with coffee drinks came to S$ 43. There is short, but decent bottle beer list as well. Kid friendly. Small groups work best in this tiny café.

An establishment that actually understands the meaning of good service is something I’ve been craving since moving to Singapore, and I’m glad I’ve found it here. A good cup of joe, a decent beer selection, a solid but not over the top food menu, and comfy chairs to lounge the afternoon away. What’s not to like?

Charming café with a dash of industrial artistic ambience hat serves good food & innovative drinks. This place comes with great service and you can appreciate different types of art pieces. The art pieces change all the time and Cups n Canvas are strong supporters of Asian artists. There are professional artists work for sale in the café if you feel like re-decorating!

Realistically, they get 5 stars for service — not only were they great about finding my friends and I a table to get comfortable around during a busy dinner service, but one of the guys even offered to help me charge my phone behind the counter. They were great all night in conversation and helping to keep the vibe of the place up. The food menu overall is relatively basic, including a general array of burgers, sandwiches, pastas and salads. Thankfully so, they do their simple menu very well — particularly their Calamari Rings($ 7.90) With something so simple, there really is nowhere to hide; they were crispy, tender and nothing short of perfect! The café/art studio(hence«cups n canvas») is probably one of the most chillaxing places I’ve stumbled across in awhile and along with their great international beer selection(starting from $ 9), I can definitely see myself coming back to unwind here in the early evening and beyond.

The café is great for a relaxing time in a great atmosphere, but don’t expect great food; its very average(we had lunch on a weekday, so the weekend breakfasts might be better). The service is great though. Come for an afternoon cuppa with friends

I saw this place while walking one day, I didn’t have time to pop in then but I vowed to return and check it out since the concept looked intriguing– A coffee shop attached to an art studio. I returned the following week with a book to check it out. I really liked the layout with comfy couches and chairs in addition to the standard tables and wooden chairs. When I glanced at the menu it seemed they had many options but it was more expensive than I wanted to pay for a solitary afternoon adventure so I opted for a cup of soup to tide me over until dinner. The service was very polite and friendly and I was able to sit, eat my soup, listen to my music(I brought my own headphones) and read while enjoying the ambiance of the café. There was no one painting when I was there which would have completed my experience but it was still nice to look at people’s work and creativity. All in all, a pretty good place. I would go back again sometime.

Cups N Canvas is a café-cum-studio located along Selegie Road, just a few blocks down Wilkie Edge. This café is housed within an art-deco shop house and emphasizes on the harmony of art and coffee. A fun, vibrant and homely environment, a great place to chill for catching up with friends, for work and even for exercising your creativity. I was attracted to this café by the beautiful and vibrant artwork. This café is located in the hearts of Bras Besah, surrounded by our local art schools like SOTA, NAFA and Lasalle. A popular hangout place for students to spark their creative minds! The café aims to bring the creative and fun-loving side of people who may be mechanized by our hectic and mundane city life. Basically, this café can be separated into 2 sections. During the day, both sections are connected to accomodate more customers. When evening comes, the ‘Right’ section is separated by a sliding door where they conduct art classes! Their service staffs are also very well-mannered and friendly, especially the in-charge who was very outgoing and helpful in addressing our needs and queries! Remember to check out their special combos! They have their ‘All Day Pasta and Drink’ combo at only $ 12.90 as well as a ‘Afternoon Cake and Drink’ combo at $ 9.90. Value for money! I went for the cake and drink combo at $ 9.90 and tried their signature carrot cake together with a cup of sweet potato latte(so interesting). Honestly, I didn’t enjoy the carrot cake. It was a little too starchy. I had to drink lots of water to go along in order to finish the cake. On the other hand, I was quite amused by the sweet potato latte. Initially, I expected it to be orange in colour, but it actually turned our purple! I’m guessing that they used Japanese purple sweet potatoes. It was very rich and creamy with the gentle sweetness of the sweet potato. The taste isn’t too overwhelming and I recommend that you give it a try! Their Earl Grey Cheesecake is pretty smooth and rich. It may taste a little heavy but it’s so easy to swallow, leaves you longing for just one more bite! In my opinion, this place is quite spacious and it’s ideal for catching up with friends and loved ones to while your afternoon away. The quiet but vibrant environment will certainly help you to develop new ideas for your work or projects! Food and drinks are delicious and affordable. It’ll certainly keep me coming back! New Jack Swing/80’s make out music on a Sunday afternoon made me feel slightly unsettled. Hobby levels of cooking means I don’t encourage anyone to order the food. Please don’t. Giving it 2 stars because I did not have a hot beverage or any cake or pastry and it is first billed as a café, so can’t really tell if it gets that right. If not, it would be a solitary star I’m afraid. Pleasant place to have a meeting maybe? Otherwise a first and last visit. Staff were eager enough though!
