Fall short compared to what’s available back home in Sabah but they are authentic in all its senses with the soup boiled with beef parts. Difference is it is lighter than what I’m used to and the mee hoon is the SG laksa mee hoon version. Not bad for a cold wet day though

The soup was very robust and hearty and was probably the better choice compared to the dry version. Apparently this is quite a well known stall which used to be at China Square before they moved to Alexandra Village Market. I ordered the raw beef slices kway teow(dry version) which was tasty, but some of the beef slices were a bit too chewy for my liking. Definitely not tender soft even though it was not overly tough either. My friend liked it and thought it was very tender. Maybe the cooking timing was different for our order, so hers was much better than mine. I liked that you could add crushed peanuts and lime to the noodle, and the chili was pretty good too. I would order the soup version in future as it was full of beefy goodness and you could see most people had beef soup on their tables.
