Don’t get the cake. The crunchy hazelnut chocolate cake I had tasted a bit stale and the cream had an oily aftertaste. It was quite bad that I left it half eaten. I am not sure if they bake cakes on the premise or they get them from elsewhere. Or maybe it has been sitting there for a few days, not surprising if most of the patrons do not really order cakes. The carbonara was good, creamy and tasty. I like it. The flat white was equally decent. In the hour I was there, most people ordered the sandwiches or pasta and coffee. Not many people actually had desserts. Maybe I should have observed more before ordering. It can get pricey considering it came to over $ 30 for just a coffee, pasta and cake.

I was walking around the gardens(a definite must do) and was hungry for lunch. It was hot outside and it is air conditioned inside. I ordered the salmon argula sandwich. It was very good but at $ 20SGD, it was pretty pricey. Including several drinks to rehydrate, my total for 1 person was getting up there. Service was a little slow to get my sandwich but the staff was friendly. The air conditioning was set pretty low so it felt great. There are not a lot of cheap options in the park so I would recommend eating before seeing the park or bringing your food and enjoy a picnic in the park.

Dropped by for a mid afternoon coffee and was forced kicking and screaming to eat some of their chocolate cake. We dropped by on a trip to Gardens by the Bay and ordered a Flat White Coffee, a Latte and suddenly heard our names being called by double chocolate heaven cake and a banana chocolate cake. Having no willpower whatsoever we gave in and ordered a piece of each. Many calories later it was hard to conclude which was the better. The double chocolate was heavier but had a great chocolate flavor. The banana chocolate had a really nice banana flavored Mousse in the middle. Coffee was also good but cups rather small. Overall great taste but a little pricy.

What can I say about this place? In the most beautiful patois ever created by Mankind(Singlish), I can pithily conclude my review of this place in two words: «OK lor.» Nothing impressive. Would come if I was at Gardens… but definitely not worth us driving out of the way just to dine here. Price point: My pasta was $ 20ish.
