It used to be a real pain to get to Labrador Park by public transport. But in 2012, the Berlayer Creek boardwalk was built by URA and created a «shortcut» from Labrador Park MRT station to Labrador Park in an instance. OK maybe not very fast still but definitely more scenic. Berlayer Creek itself is one of two remaining mangroves located in the south of mainland Singapore. It comprises three types of habitats including — mangroves, rocky shore and mudflats and is home to a diverse group of fauna and flora. a great hike for families and a wonderful view of Sentosa awaits you. You can also walk past Keppel Club on the way to Bukit Chermin and have an up close encounter with how the other half enjoys their day. It is part of the greater Labrador Nature and Coastal Walk which also includes the Alexandra Gardens. Berlayer Creek used to be this neglected batch of rare mangroves but this access to public hopefully means more people can now enjoy it as well without having to muck in the mud or canoe down the river like a national geographic explorer.
