Belly View

I came to realize why this place is name Belly view, and it’s a pretty cute reason why. You get to see the belly view of airplanes as they fly over this dining place.
The Zi char here is pretty good. Tried the cereal prawns, spinach dish, chicken dish and a few others. The above few I mentioned are tasty and well cooked.
Overall a nice place to dine at, good for family gatherings too. Do come earlier to enjoy the sunset view and avoid crowds.

This is a regular stop for us on our weekend bike rides. It’s perfect because you can ride your bike right up to the table where you can sit and watch the planes come in. It’s very quiet, and removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. The menu is small, but sufficient for breakfast: eggs, pancakes, toast, and maybe a milkshake for dessert :) The coffee is pretty decent as they have a proper espresso machine for lattes.

Belly View Café is an obscure Chinese zi char place located at NSRCC Sea Sports Centre. It was a random visit one weekend because we didn’t want to travel to the nearby malls in the East for dinner and this place is really quiet. You’ll need to drive or cab if you want to dine here. Otherwise, you could try cycling here from Changi Village. Work for your food my friends!
Dine out on the wooden deck which overlooks the sea. Listen to the crashing waves on the sea wall and watch the planes fly by every 2 mins or so (we timed them!). That’s also why it’s called Belly View. :) How we wished we were on a plane out.
The food is simple but well executed Chinese food at hawker prices. You can trust the aunty for recommendations. I’d say order the fried rice, Mongolian venison or beef, Mongolian beancurd and the sambal kangkong. This serves 2 – 3 or more depending on the portion you order.

Make sure you make a reservation or aunty won’t be pleased. That also guarantees you a good seat by the waterfront.
