Bacon and Booze has a brilliant name which somehow draws people to the forsaken place known as Punggol End. It’s so ulu that you can’t even get data signal on your mobile.(And B&B is too stingy to share their wifi.)Yet on a Friday night it was decently filled, with all the outdoor seating taken up. It was surprising to see mostly a young hipster bunch, since it’s only accessible by car(yes there is a single bus that goes to Punggol End but not advisable since it’s a really deserted area). Here are the only 3 good things about this place: 1. They sell Kronenberg cider(elderflower n stawberry 2. They have not-bad live music on fri and sat 3. They open till late(they have to because it takes anyone like, 10 hours to get to the place) Here are the things which made me regret making the trip down: 1. They served us melted ice-cream. Yes, melted, like the cup which the ice cream was served in was half-full of liquid. Reason? «The freezer is not cold…» Just tell us its not available instead of making us wait n serving us cream 2. The ice mocha sucks. In fact all the drinks which aren’t bottled are probably not worth paying $ 6 for. 3. Food is not impressive. just not worth the price n the distance u travelled to get it 4. Service was below par.(Please send your rookie waiters for some courses) 5. Kitchen closes too early for somewhere so far 6. It’s hot and humid, even indoors 7. No wifi. And no regular reception to top it off Ok so my main gripe was the melted ice cream. But that says so much about the kind of standards they have. Waste of a long car ride to the north east
