I was kinda aimlessly walking around chinatown and decided to go to the food market for a refreshing cup of sugar cane juice when this stall caught my eyes. without much thought I ordered a plate of mango salad. at 5pm it looked like i was one of the first few customers because they were just getting their bowls from the shelf and peeling the mango. I wasn’t in a hurry so I was more than happy to wait. From my short conversation with the stall owners, they look and sound like natives from thailand and one of the lady bosses even speaks mandarin. finally my salad was served and woah it was a huge plate of goodness! my first mouth left me with a big grin and i was delighted to find a new texture in my salad. upon looking and prodding around the plate i saw that cherry shrimp were among the ingredients and that really gave it the crunchiness I never eaten in other mango salads. the sweetness and spiciness were of good balance and I finished the whole plate myself in 20 mins. yes it was a huge plate! think food catering biggest white styrofoam plate. definitely a gem in chinatown! i want to go back again to try out other items on their menu. this mango salad was $ 4. i declare it value for its money!
