I’m not exactly the sportiest person around, so on occasion when I have to buy sporting equipment, the Adidas store here is my to-go. I like the fact that they’re so large, and unlike the smaller establishments/franchisers that carry Adidas good which very often dont carry enough sizes, I’ve never once been disappointed shopping in this store. Being quite a sucker for nice sports apparel, I completely sold by the Stella McCartney selection in this store. They carry the most sophisticated sportswear designs for a wide range of sports– from mat work like yoga to trainers for intense workouts. Of course, some of the items come at slightly higher prices– thats just simply what you have to pay for good design. I suppose this would be a store great for purchasing something for the adrenaline junkie friend that everyone of us has, having a wide enough selection so that you wont have to worry about burning a hole in your pocket. Water bottles go for as low as $ 9. Recently, they’ve also started bringing in merchandize for casual wear– such as watches, walking shoes, and even jewelry, so there is something for everybody.

This Adidas outlet is probably one of the most comprehensive ones I’ve seen in Singapore, apart form the one at Suntec, though I think this might just give it a run for their money. Well quite literally you could run in this one. This outlet takes pride in its promotion of of the miadidas concept, where you can customise your own sportswear, most specifically(and you’ll hardly need personalisation in anything else anyway) your shoes. They have a treadmill in the shop, presumably so you can test the shoes out and see the impact points on your feet when you run, but it goes really well with the decoration and theme of the shop anyway. True to its brand the whole shop is really slickly designed with a overriding black and white theme. My favourite decorative quirk is that it kits each mannqeuin up in products, and then crowns it with a lanyard that says how much each product it is wearing costs. One criticism I have though is how they stuff these plastic things inside their shoes to give it a shape, but I feel that it robs it off one of its best-selling points — it’s weight(or lack thereof). They have spent so much on developing a technology that makes their shoes so featherweight, but adding these contraptions in it means that the customer can’t feel it at all. Booooo.

The Adidas Concept Store at The Cathay is one of the largest in Singapore and has one of the most comprehensive selection of sports apparel, footwear, accessories and equipment. It ranges from tennis to football as well as swimming and running. It is also the only Adidas store with an in house treadmill for gait analysis. The thing I love most about Adidas is that all the concept stores stock different apparel coupled with great service. They also have sizes that the stores in Queensway might lack although the latter definitely has more competitive pricing for footwear.
