I get my hair done pretty regularly i. e haircut every 5 – 6 weeks and hair dye almost every bi-montly. Hence I need a stylist that truly understand my needs and preference. The stylist I’m talking about is Sylvia, the director at Actpoint Shaw Tower. She is good at keeping my bob the length I love and trimming it the thickness that suits my face shape. She is also very patient and gentle lady. *thumbs up

I must admit that my hair isn’t what it seems to be. On good days, it may look straight and somewhat presentable. But if you subtract the products I use and the heat styling I do, well, it’s really a huge effing mess. Thanks to my genes, I have crazy curly hair, and it’s not the nice, voluminous wavy kind that you see all the models rock. It’s more like… the Lion King. And not in a good way! So you can imagine the fear I had once I moved to Singapore. Who’s going to do my hair? How can I get it straightened? Is rebonding for me? After doing some light google searching, I finally decided to take the plunge. I can’t remember which website I discovered, but it had a list of recommended salons for hair straightening/rebonding, and Act Point was one of them. I chose Act Point because the location was easily accessible and the price point was mid range. My stylist Bosco was pretty awesome. He did a great job on my hair and recommended some good after-care products. Since I had to do a complete rebonding* for full price, he threw in a clarifying shampoo and conditioner for free, which was a nice perk. He also gave me some good tips for managing my hair type in Singapore’s humid climate. I visited their other salon in Orchard(which I’ll have to write a separate review for) and I also found my stylist quite helpful there, so I can at least vouch for the consistency and quality of the stylists. For someone whose hair needs a lot of attention, I’m very happy with this salon! Keep up the good work, y’all! :) *With this type of rebonding, retouching the roots is possible. Since it’s been a long time since I chemically straightened my hair, they had to do the process on all of my hair, from roots to ends. I don’t even know if «complete rebonding» is the right terminology. I totally pulled it out of my ass. Oh well.
