nice to meet you, where you been?
magic, acai, heaven, sin?
my virgin encounter with acai was in sao paolo!
back then the craze had not quite hit SG and i was still relatively new to this superfood, although i have heard of it.
the experience was rather underwhelming, probably due to the fact that the place i had it was more like a run of the mill diner.
fast forward to 2015 and SF’s bowl’d acai!
saw you there and i thought
oh my god, look at that acai
you look like, my next mistake
humongous delicious serving, chock full of ingredients with assorted texture and great looks to boot!
i can seriously have it as a meal and be full!
project acai has been in SG for quite some time now, with it’s first outlet in holland village.
walked passed a few times but never did got around to try them.
with this new outlet in the heart of orchard road, i can see myself getting healthier whilst enjoying a dessert!
it is a really small outlet with limited bar stool seats but packed with part timers who are clearly passionate about everything korean, chatty and friendly, proudly serving sambazon acai.
three sizes of acai bowl of which i have tried two.
the handy size is a can carry single-​handedly and walk around with it cup.
the medium size is a better to have a table and enjoy it shallow bowl.
as for the large size, it looks like a good to share with your groupies deep bowl or if i had wanted it as a meal replacement.
the acai bowl version here is tastiness without guiltiness!
a good balance of flavours, colours, textures and never once overly sweet.
the price point is up there with most superfoods and clearly not for when you are on a fiver a meal day.
my only wish is for a dollop of peanut butter to be added ala bowl’d acai’s version and i will die happy.

Definitely some of the best acai bowls (plural because it was so good, we went back for more) I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend going here. Not many choices on the menu but they are flexible and will add or exclude anything you ask for. The choices they do have are perfect and really don’t need to be altered, in my opinion. We’ll definitely be back again!
