Wandering around city center, we run into some protest demonstration, and got derailed from our plans — so lunch was an escape route. Fear not, my dear friend, there are sooooo many places to eat here. Here it is — simple sign and delicious food choices of Pan y Cebolla lured us in. It’s a Prix Fixe(4900 pesos) lunch, and it was very good. Décor is simple, staff is friendly, and whole atmosphere is very homey. There is additional sitting available on second level — should be good for groups or for dinner. Full disclaimer: I do not speak any Spanish, but people of Santiago are the friendliest folks in whole world, and always helped poor souls out — including choosing food here. With few Spanish words and hand language we managed… Started with hot bread and herb mayo, followed by simple salata, and finally pasta with wild mushrooms for main course. Delicioooooouuuus. Even juice(strawberry — so fresh!) and dessert(flan) was included. Yum. Battery recharged, midday heat escaped.
