I recently visited The Round Table Pembina to fulfill a steak craving. Overall, my date and I had a decent experience. The entrance to get into the restaurant parking lot was a bit deceiving, I could see it being an issue for some. However, we cannot fault the Round Table for this. So this is just something to keep in mind when deciding to dine here. The design inside the restaurant did a very good job of giving off a medieval feel. We also feel kind of ripped of that the tables were not very round!(Kidding) The location we were seated in felt a little tight. Mind you, we were in a corner of a room with a large party already seated. We also did not make a reservation for the table so this may be the explanation for it. The server was friendly, however it could have been sharper and a little quicker. We asked for an explanation of one of the appetizers and he proceeded to describe only the portion size and that it was deep fried. Not much of a help. We started off with the fish cakes as an appetizer. It was quite delicious. It had some salmon in it, and it went well with the sauce baked into the fish cake. Big portion for an appetizer as well. My date and I both ordered the ribeye steak. I ordered it medium rare and the center wasn’t overwhelmingly pink, just the way I like it. I was disappointed by the butter seared shrimp and mashed potatoes though. For the $ 35 entrée I felt it could have been more flavorful or even plated better. Overall, the Round Table had an amazing strip of steak and a unique medieval atmosphere. However, the details could be shored up a bit to really enhance the dining experience.
