This is our favourite Chinese restaurant in Winnipeg. Been going here almost every month for the last 4 years. The staff are always helpful, polite and friendly. Large portions, great prices and delicious. Always go for the Crispy chicken in Thai sauce or the duck, beef Fried Ho fan with bean sprouts or Singapore noodles and deluxe vegetables. The only issue is not to order everything on the menu!

This is amazing Chinese food, I’ve tried many restaurants in Winnipeg and this is my number one. The staff is friendly, helpful and kind. The meals are large, inexpensive and tasty. I go probably once a month, always a good experience.

Maybe, it is the best Guangdong food in Winnipeg. All the food are fresh and good to eat. And most the waitress are nice to talk, but one. Last time I went to there, she said I am ugly!

Just drove up the prairie to the big city and stopped here for some Chinese. Yeah! it was really very good and everything I saw other people eating also looked good. Next time, I will go for a noodle bowl, as a staff member was eating something that looked delicious. This is a large-ish restaurant with mostly Chinese customers so you know right there that it is very fine. The wait staff are older women and that is so refreshing to see because this is the real deal and not some flashy, Americanized place to eat. I don’t know about anyone else but I believe that we get more beautiful as we grow older because that’s when your true character and strength comes out. Anyway — the staff were very friendly and I felt like I was in someone’s house to be honest. I did some searching around on Unilocal and found this restaurant and was so happy to be able to stop and get a great meal. They are busy and very fast, and I could take a long time to work my way through their menu.

Best Chinese food in the city. Quality is consistently great. Service is somewhat disorganized but the food is so good that it’s forgivable. Maggi beef, fried eggplant and sesame chicken are terrific.

A Chinese restaurant in a strip mall on a stretch of incredibly commercial highway and one of the best meals we had in Winnipeg — lessons in not judging books by covers abound. We were in town for the World Cup and nearby Barley Bros was our de facto HQ, but we’d eaten there more than once and wanted something different. We weren’t interested in some of the pricier fare available elsewhere in the strip mall, so decided to stumble into Sun Fortune — it was indeed our lucky day. You know you’re going to get good, real food whenever you walk into an ethnic restaurant and it’s chock full of folks of that ethnicity. There were more menus written in Chinese than there were in English. There were awesome, inexpensive lunch specials for under $ 9CAN. My noodles and spring roll were perfectly cooked and delicious and the husband’s spicy honey chicken was neither too hot, nor too sweet and came with an abundance of sticky rice. It was a great meal that we just happened upon — one of my favorite things when traveling.

This is my all time favorite Chinese restaurant in town since it opened. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and this place never fails. The staff have come to know our family pretty well, so service is usually prompt for us. The staff are busting their butts everyday because this place is ALWAYS busy. It’s located right by University of Manitoba and has become a popular spot for students and Chinese people. You will typically see people crowding the front entrance waiting for a table. I highly recommend making a reservation. What to get? Honestly, everything on the menu is fantastic. I like trying their specials or new items. The staff will also suggest different variations to dishes to spice it up a little. Suggested menu items are salted fish fried rice, spareribs in soya sauce and cilantro and wide rice noodles with gravy. But, just to name a few!

Good place to eat Chinese, hard to get an understanding of what you can get to eat; a good adventure though. Seems to be very authentic as it is frequented by lots of authentic people! Good portions, fresh and delicious. Décor is not all there but; I go out to EAT! If I want scenery; I’ll go to the Grand Canyon! I’d go back for sure.

I’ve been to Hong Kong many times and this place has the most authentic Cantonese menu. Although this used to be my University hangout, its been a few years between visits, but I must say nothing has changed… still awesome. The beef chow fun is a must. As well as their milk tea. The place is always full of Chinese people which must speak to the authenticity of the place.

The Skinny: solid Hong-Kong styled restaurant that features Cantonese cuisine(4), service: friendly if not that attentive(3), value — pretty good(4). This is one of my favourite Chinese places in town. The best time to come is for a weekend lunch where you can get traditional Cantonese style lunches — bbq pork rice, bbq duck noodle soups, and various selection of congee. Also good here is the sweet«ox tongue» donut which is named for its shape(there’s really no meat product in there, I swear!). The rice and noodles dishes some of the best in town. Also of note is a fantastic tofu dish called«village styled» tofu(roughly translated). It is made with egg tofu, lightly fried, with pork, shitake, and spinach. So good. Always ask the server what vegetables are nice that day and she’ll kindly let you know what kind of oriental vegetables are available. Usually, snow pea shoots(if fresh) stirfried with garlic are a delight.
