Originally from Winnipeg but had moved to Vancouver slightly before this pleasant joint opened up! Finally with a lunch hour to spare over Christmas 2015 break whilst deciding upon where an old friend of mine and I could catch up she mentioned Nuburger and I was sold. I had the John Stamos burger but substituted the beef with chicken on a whole wheat bun. The sauce and cucumbers paired pleasantly with the chicken. I had the Asian slaw as the side as I often find fries too filling before I eat my burger! I would highly recommend. Locally sourced. Delicious.

I don’t get the big deal. Slow service. Not allergy friendly. Our Burgers were meh. I’d rather get a burger from VJ’s.

Very fresh and wholesome, don’t like the location as parking is tricky but always worth the amazing fresh burger!

I appreciate that this place has more than one veggie option. Usually when I go to a place, it has several meat options and one veggie burger. But, this place has three, if I remember correctly. The food was good and it’s a different take on the usual burger joint.

I personally didn’t like it that much only because I had high expectations about it. The fries are average and I didn’t like the burger, maybe I picked the wrong thing but it was nothing special. I do recommend you try it at least once. Cause the friend that I went with really liked it!

This was my first time here with my daughter. I had the John Stamos. This was juicy flavourful, and messy just the way a burger should be. We had to yam fries with the sweet chili dip again a great hit with me and washed it down with a coke in a glass bottle. Some how thing just are better with coke from a glass bottle. The service was great friendly with a smile. They check back several time to see how things were. I love the atmosphere and would certainly look forward to a return visit.

Had Nuburger for the first time the other day, loved it. Thought it was kind of expensive at first until I saw the portion sizes. I believe I had the«Bacon» cheddar, and really enjoyed it, the portion sizes were so large I had to wrap some some up and take it home! Still tastes like a burger, but gets your veggies in! Awesome, I am excited to return.

I’ve had the drunken Aussie multiple times as well as various others. I’ve never been disappointed with any of their food. I think the only downside is some of them are really messy to eat but they’re so delicious that you don’t care. The best part is that you don’t get a sick greasy feeling after eating there that you do with most burger places. You’re full but not gross feeling.

Great burger, I had the Donald with multigrain focaccia style bun and Yam fries with chipotle sauce. The place was easy to find, inside was very clean, great service and most importantly great quality food!

We visited Nuburger for the first time, today. Unilocal reviewers really delivered on this one! The burgers were wonderful, and the fresh fried yams were the best I’ve ever had. Ever! I am stingy on five-star ratings, but Nuburger is the real deal. Your visit to Winnipeg will not be complete until you’ve eaten at Nuburger. Just terrific!

I’ve been to Nuburger on two occasions. The first time I came here, I had the blue & gold($ 7.75, now $ 7.95), which came with blue cheese, tomato, balsamic onion, lettuce, and low fat chipotle. The burger was a bit messy to eat, and the juice from the tomato and the sauce caused the buns to be soaked. The burger didn’t really do much for me and I wouldn’t order it again. And back on the topic of buns, I forgot what type it was, but I didn’t like it as much. They don’t use that bun anymore now, and instead you can get your burger with the traditional buns, multigrain, or even have it «nude», which basically means your burger is wrapped in lettuce. For the side, I had freshly cut potato fries($ 3.25) and just simply tossed in salt(you can also get it tossed in sweet curry salt). They also offer dips for $ 1, which includes chipotle aioli, rosemary garlic aioli, ultimate chili aioli, sweet chili mayo, honey dill, sweet n’ spicy chili mayo, and truffle aioli(extra $ 0.50). I also got a glass bottled coke to wash it all down. When I got my fries, I had to send it back. Why? Because they cold and soft. It seemed like the fries they had served me had been sitting there for a while. Fresh fries made should be hot, and outside crispy. If I knew the fries were cold, I wouldn’t be serving it to the customer. The server I spoke to had apologized and made a new FRESH batch of fries for me. You can find the before and after photos of the fries I got below. As you can see, my first experience wasn’t that great. For my second visit, I tried the Donald($ 11.25, now $ 11.55), which came with black currant shiraz reduction, omega-3 egg(sunny side up), sauteed mushrooms, balsamic onions, bothwell cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and truffle aioli. The burger was massive, and again messy, due to the runny egg yolk(but I love it). I should also note that after you have placed your order, they will give you a toy, which in my case was a care bear figure, and this is for them to identify you when your food is ready and is brought to your table. The fries this time were perfect, as they should be. The burger itself tasted good, but not the best I’ve had. Overall, if you’re a burger connoisseur, you would probably want to give this place a try, as there are not many gourmet burger joints in the city.

Well, I tried. Attractive joint with a friendly owner, but a very noisy environment, had to get out when busy. Burgers too dry for me(maybe because they use lean grind, healthier but dry and bland), and the chilli had too much chille powder — overpowered. Fries were ok. Price was not. We only ate half our meals and left the rest. I know it’s trendy, but not for me.

The service was the downfall. It was all weird. You order at the till and then sit down and someone brings your food out. Our food didn’t come out all at once and things were missing and things were forgotten but only one person was working the front and there was a line so we had to wait to ask… The food was alright but you had eaten half the burger by the time you got fries, and then half the fries by the time you got the dip you ordered even though everything was ordered and paid for at the same time. Put more people front of house during the lunch rush please!

Naturally when I visit a new place, I’ve gotta seek out their best burger place and put my two cents in… enter Winnipeg’s Nuburger. First off, parking is a bastard here. There is a pay lot across the street that serves the businesses in the area, and a small lot out back. Plus it’s off a one way street, so, yeah, it was a joy to get to. Then, once you get parked and head into the place(which looks like a house, and you enter in through it’s side door), you then get to stand immediately in the doorway and in line. Not a fan of one person taking orders, and a line going out the door. But, I’ve been in worse when it comes to a line and waiting to put in a food order. We go through the menu, and I take my buddies recommendation on getting the blueberry yum yum. However, because I like dead pig a lot, I get that bugger with some bacon. Ashley decides to build her own masterpiece, which amounts to a breakfast burger — bacon and a fried egg with some cheese. We get a couple sharable orders of normal fries and sweet tater fries with honey chipotle dip and rosemary dip. Next up, you get a figurine and pop a squat in the very hot seating area to wait for a runner to deliver the burger. I got a fella from The Incredibles, our burger eating neighbor next to us got a Simpsons figurine — so you get the just of it. Burgers arrive, here’s my rundown: Blueberry BBQ sauce, goat’s cheese, balsamic onions, lettuce, tomato and low fat herb mayo… and bacon. Lets start with the good, it’s got the whole sweet/savory/salty thing going on like a champ. That blue berry bbq is a hell of a tasty little gem that works perfectly with the goat cheese. The mayo that comes with it gives it a strange flavor, not sure if I liked it? Just a strange flavor that seems out of place with the other flavors. Either way, it goes down in a few bites, and I’m licking the plate where some blue berry bbq sauce hit with some cheese. The breafkast burger was solid. It was as solid as a burger can get, and only needed a tad of ketchup to be a damn good burger. Fries… the normal fries were ok. I didn’t overly care for them, but, I didn’t hate them. The sweet tater(yams for you crazy folk) fries were really good. Especially with the honey chipotle dip. Huge fan of the dips they have available. Overall… I’m spoiled given where I live and having access to some amazing burgers. This place serves a solid burger, the sweet tater fries take it from a 3 to a 4 for me. Hate the location and ordering process with a single person taking orders. Big bonus, you don’t feel like you just ate a burger afterward. Good up’s on the ingredients and lightness of the food here.

I had the bacon cheeseburger with the blueberry bbq sauce instead of mayo and it was phenomenal. The yam fries were light and crispy. If you like burgers, you must go here.

Good Unburger, which was a spicier falafel burger, which was one of four veggie choices. Multi-grain roll option made it even more savory. Staff helpful and friendly. The Garden of Eden salad seemed like it had been prepared well in advance and was not very exciting with its celery and carrot slices. Would go back. Much to its credit, it has been open four years now and is working on opening a second location, according to the cashier.

Fresh vegetables, smart combination of materials in the burgers, young and friendly crew and very different and we designed look of the place. There is free parking in the back, so don’t park in the pay parking across street(like I did). Giving them 4 coz of service, they never followed up to see everything were good at my table or needed anything. Food was 5 star.

Awesome burgers! And you don’t have to feel gross when you leave! This place uses nothing but home made buns, and local ingredients. All of it is top quality. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Pricing is higher compared to a diner. But this is a healthier place with better quality ingredients. You get what you pay for.

I think this place has been open for maybe 3.5 years or so? I’ve been a fan since they first open and have been eating here consistently since. And this place really deserves a 5 star for the consistently delicious burgers. Yes, it’s a bit pricier than what some might expect for a burger but it’s the type of burger that’s worth that price. You can read up on their philosophy and all on their website. Anyhow, my go-to burgers are(in no particular order) — BLUE&GOLD $ 7.50 Blue Cheese, Artisan Lettuce, Fancy Tomato, Balsamic Onion, & Chipotle Aioli. My usual beef burger when I eat here. — THEDONALD $ 10.75 — beef burger with Black Current Shiraz Reduction, Truffle Aioli, Omega-3 Egg, Sautéed Mushrooms, Balsamic Onions, Bothwell Cheddar, Tomato, & Artisan Lettuce. super messy but oh so good… love a fried egg on anything. — SHANGHAI $ 8.25 — chicken burger with Inhouse Asian Slaw & Sweet Chili Mayo. when I feel like chicken… this is the one. spicy with superb flavours. their mash ups aren’t available all the time but when they are… get them: — Skinny Boy — a take on the Winnipeg fat boy, this one has lettuce, tomatoes, onions, chili, mustard and half-fat mayo. — Shang-Awesome — the fabulous beef burger that got them the title of 2013 Winnipeg’s Best Burger — Free-range Manitoban Beef, Canadian Goat Cheese, Inhouse Asian slaw, hot damn! mushrooms, & sweet chili aioli. — «She Chives Me Crazy» — beef burger with nitrate-free double smoked bacon, bothwell cheddar cheese, sour cream n’ chives, sauteed onions, fresh lettuce & tomato with chili aioli. It really tastes like a sour cream and chive potato except there’s a beef patty in there. sooooo good!!! The place is fun with their cartoon figurines and the staff are always super friendly and happy. Great place!
